Security forces gun down 17 Maoists in Ch’garh

Bijapur, June 29 (ANI): In a major success for security forces at least 17 suspected Maoists got gunned down during an overnight encounter in Chhattisgarh. Lasting for over six hours, the battle between the suspected rebels and the CRPF took place in Maoist hot bed, Bijapur district. According to media reports other than bodies of the ultras a huge cache of arms and ammunition have also been recovered from the encounter site in the forests of Silger. Meanwhile over six CRPF personnel have sustained serious injuries and been rushed to district hospitals for medical aid out of which two critical officials have been air lifted to Raipur.
