Director Abhishek Kapoor, who shot to fame with his 2008 release ‘Rock On’, is excited to be back with the sequel of the film starring the same lead actors. The original movie starred Farhan Akhtar, Arjun Rampal, Luke Kenny and Purab Kohli. The film marked Farhan`s acting and singing debut and enjoyed immense popularity. It also won Arjun, a National award. The director reveals that no leading Bollywood actor came forward for the original ‘Rock On’ because it was multi-starrer, even though actor-director Farhan Akhtar was already there. So, he has decided to repeat the old team .The director is currently busy shooting and promoting his upcoming film ‘Kai Po Che’, based on Chetan Bhagat`s novel ‘The 3 Mistakes of My Life’.
3 titans to clash
Three leading ladies - Sridevi, Preity Zinta and Kareena Kapoor - with their three big projects – ‘English Vinglish’, ‘Ishqk In Paris’ and ‘Heroine’ respectively, are set to clash on September 21, 2012. This is another matter that the three some belongs to three different periods. While Sridevi returns to Bollywood with ‘English Vinglish’ after 15 long years , Preity Zinta tests her luck with ‘Ishqk in Paris’ after a sabbatical and Kareena Kapoor appears in Madhur Bhandarkar’s much hyped ‘Heroine’ with her raunchy dance. However, buzz is that ‘English Vinglish’ producers Eros International are reconsidering their decision to defer their movie’s release to early October though director R. Balki says everything is going as planned. Anyway, there is no scope for a change in the date of release of ‘Heroine’ at least as Madhur Bhandarkar has decided to present the movie to his lead star Kareena on her birthday.
Sunny with lucky director
Actor Sunny Deol is returning to the silver screen but very carefully. This time he has signed up with his lucky director Anil Sharma, who gave him hits like ‘Gadar’ and ‘Apne’. Sunny and Anil will now work together in what is titled ‘Singh Saheb the Great’. Since this is going to be an action film who could better fit in than Sunny who is known for his action flicks likes of ‘ Ghayal’, ‘Narasimha’ and of course ‘Gadar’. The film is currently in the pre-production stage. The shooting for will start in October / November. The most important thing is yet to be decided as to who will be cast as female lead opposite Sunny who will wear a turban again.
Jackie Shroff in ‘Dhoom 3’
There is a good news for the fans of Jackie Shroff. Though the actor has been away from Hindi films from quite some time, he will soon be seen in Aditya Chopra`s upcoming ‘Dhoom 3’. Revealing this himself Jackie said that he is preparing for the shoot any time. The movie series centers around bike chases, handsome thieves and daring theft plans. After the success of ‘Dhoom’ and ‘Dhoom 2’ there is much craze about the third part. Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra will reprise their roles of Jai and Ali, respectively, while Aamir Khan would play the bad guy opposite Katrina Kaif. Jackie is very excited to work in Yash Raj Films venture as he reminisces having worked with the banner in ‘Aaina` though long ago. The other co-stars aren’t strangers for him as he worked with Aamir in Ram Gopal Varma`s ‘Rangeela’ and with Abhishek in ‘Refugee’ and ‘Bas Itna Sa Khwaab Hai’.
