Pahlaj Nihalani is a veteran director who has given us film after film hitting the box office. Besides, he is very particular in providing the most fascinating music to his films. This time, he is back with another beautiful movie titled 'Khushboo' and with an equally terrific soundtrack. Terrific soundtrack, yes, as the movie has music by Adnan Sami and lyrics by none other than Javed Akhtar. Both have left nothing undone to make the movie's music as mesmerizing as is earthly possible.

Adnan Sami kick starts the album with 'Kyon Hai Mujhe'. This youthful song is rendered by a youthful Shreya Ghosal and Adnan himself. If its tune is magical, the lyrics aren't behind; the latter being equally fantastic. The song sung by no less than Adnan and Shreya has an extraordinary appeal to the innocence and idealism of youth.

The third song, Kya Hai Sochati Tu, is a combination of Shankar Mahadevan and Shreya Ghosal's singing. While its lyrics reflect Javed's height of imagination , it happens to be Adnan's best funny composition. It is wondered if it would catch the attention of those who play songs on the auspicious occasions of marriages.

Adnan Sami and Mahalaxmi Iyer sing the fourth song . This is a soft romantic number , and is the most suitable song when a man goes down on one's knees to propose his love to someone . This is Badi Albeli Hai Tu ( Gudh) song , which is the raunchy, and naughty item song in the soundtrack. Udit Narayan has sung this song his way -- funny and effortless. Sunidhi has not only supported Udit but proved her versatility. The lyrics are naughty and prove Javed's versatility. His shows Javed's naughty or the other side , unusual though. Anyway, the song is witty .

Lastly, the song 'Paake Tujhe' that begins with a soulfully sung qawaali and surprisingly turns into a rock like melodious tune is sung by none other than KK . The song is a sad one and Deepak Dhusia has penned its lyrics.

Then there are remixes. They are as good as the rest of the songs. The first remix by DJ Kiran and G& Earl is a hip-hop mix of 'Kyon hai mujhe'. But, it changes the tone of the song from romantic to fast, fun and danceable. This may attract the next generation. The second remix also by DJ's K&G is a fast paced racy. This is a mix of grass root India and western tunes. The third remix of 'Dil Ye Kahe' is a club mix by DJ Amyth. Sunidhi has rendered it beautifully in tune with this number. Again, it may be a dance floor's favorite. The fourth remix is the Paake Tujhe Lovers mix by Eric Pillai and it is one of the best remixes ever heard. The final song is a bonus track. But, this is not in the film. The song is composed by Adnan and sung with by Amit Kumar. 'Kisme Kitna Hai Dum' seems to have been made keeping in view the present climate of cricket matches.

Overall, the album is good in many ways and worth to preserve it even after listening to it. I am not an Anan fan, though.
