'Bhoothnath' is a psychological kid's entertainer. And, Vishal-Shekhar, the hot choice of Gen X listeners, has proved to be the ideal choice as replacement of Aadesh Srivastava in this album. Bhootnath is an endearing tale of friendship between a mischievous child and a troubled ghost. Banku and his family move in to their new house - the Nath villa, unaware of the fact that the house is inhabited by a ghost who is not too happy with his new housemates. But what the ghost is not prepared for is his unlikely friendship with Banku. Now Banku must uncover the reason his ghostly friend is stuck in limbo and help him to attain salvation. Amitabh Bachchan's vocal talents prove to be consistent spotlight again in consequential soundtracks but the surprise package streams out in the unexplored voice of Juhi Chawla in the album's most melancholic number. Ravi Chopra's excellent filmography maintains its top slot once again when things start turning bizarre.
"Banku Bhaiya" is indeed a song dedicated to the kids. Sukhwinder tries to make himself popular among them and he has done it successfully through this song. As usual, Javed Akhtar's lyrics are well composed and lisntenable. So, this is a good track from 'Bhoothnath'.
'Chalo Jane Do' is a track by Big B and Juhi Chawla. Yes, you read it right that Juhi Chawla is the female singer of the track. Luckily, the Big B goes well on a slow paced track like in 'Baghbaan's 'Mein Yahain..' and in 'Babul'. Big B and Juhi have done their jobs too well as they have sung on a slow pace track. Again, the Javed's lyrics are fine. Music composers need to beware of trying these two singers on fast paced tracks. Overall, a good and listenable track but too long ( over six minute) !
'Hum Toh Hai Aandhi..' is sung by Koushtu Ghosh, Aparna Bhaagwat and Shravan Suresh. This song is meant only for children. Good job by Javed ji. Background music is too loud. Vishal Dadlani and Shekhar Ravjiani need some more practice and homework before doing these types of songs, perhaps.
'Mere Buddy' another track sung by Amitabh Bachchan but this time he has does it with Armaan Mallik. Another good track from Big B's throat, indeed! Again a song dedicated to children. Armaan too sings very well and matches quite well with Amitabh. Excellent! This is a well-written and composed track. The track is repeated twice without any change.
The next track ' Samay Ka Phiya' starts with Sukhwinder's aggressive voice but later with Hariharan's. Good job done by both the senior singers. Though it's a slow paced track but it's listenable. Lyrics are also written well and the good job is done by none other than Vishal Dadlani and Shekhar Ravjiani.
