Last year (2007) was really a bad year for the Yashraj Films as their big movies like 'Jhoom Barabar Jhoom' and 'Aaja Nachle' fell flat the box office. But after listening the track of 'Tashan' we find that YRF hasn't paid much attention towards this. 'Tashan' is the next movie starring Akshay Kumar, Saif Ali Khan, Anil Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor and is releasing on April 25, 2008, if everything goes well. The Yash Raj Films is using the old formula of placing persons of different mentality in one gang; innocent-men-turned-criminal or a don in this movie. Please wait we are not going to tell you the story of the movie but about the music of 'Tashan'. The album has only 5 original tracks sung by Mahalaxmi Iyer, Sukhwinder Singh, Sunidhi Chauhan, Udit Narayan, Vishal, Saleem and Piyus Mishra. The original tracks are on the YRF Music. Let's see what type of Tashan music YRF is giving to their audience.
The Opening track of the album is 'Dil Haara' sung by Sukhwinder Singh. A solo medium paced track. Piyush Mushra's lyrics are fine and the poetry is used in a very good manner. Sukhwinder has sung the track very nicely and patiently. Overall, the track is good and listenable.
The next track of the album is 'Chhaliya chhaliya…' sung by Sunidhi Chauhan and Piyush Mishra. Lyrics are written by Anvita Dutt Guptan. This is another good medium paced track of the album. Sunidhi has sung the track very beautifully. Lyrics are also fine, especially the use of English lyrics like 'Don't look at me that…..' . This makes the track peppy , indeed. We may term it another average track with Tashan.
The next track 'Dil Dance Maare' is sung by Sukhwinder Singh, Udit Narayan and Sunidhi Chauhan. This is a 'C' grade Hinglish song. Mixture of English and Hindi lyrics makes this song favorite among the front row audience. There is hardly anything special to mention about. Another average track for a particular audience!
The next track 'Falak Tak' is a romantic track sung by Udit Narayan and Mahalaxmi Iyer. Kausar Munir has penned these excellent lyrics. Both the signers - Udit and Mahalaxmi have sung the track very beautifully. A good number from the album, indeed!
Here comes the title track of the movie 'Tashan Mein' sung by Vishal and Saleem and lyrics are given by Piyush Mishra and Vishal. Nothing special or to mention except saying :
Tashan Mein Tashan Mein……….
Besides these Tashan, there are four more Tashans (Styles as called in North India ) :
1 Pooja Ka Tashan by Kareena Kapoor
2 Jimmy Ka Tashan by Saif Ali Khan
3 Bachchan Pande Ka Tashan by Akshay Kumar
4 Bhaiyaji Ka Tashan by Anil Kapoor
To boost the sale of the album Yashraj Films has added the bonus tracks from their earlier hits like Ab Tak Forever from 'Ta Ra Rum Pum', Kiss of Love from 'Jhoom Barabar Jhoom', Crazy Kiya Re from 'Dhoom 2', Ticket to Hollywood from 'Jhoom Barabar Jhoom', Hey Shona from 'Ta Ra Rum Pum and Show me your Jalwa from 'Aaja Nachle'.
Overall, an average music like that of any other movie - NOT YRF's STANDARD. After three flops now its time for the Yashraj banner to understand that the audience wants something special from them . So, they need to pay more attention to fulfill the expectations of their audience, without any further delay.
