Women oriented subjects are rare and their below average box office results make them even more unpopular in the film fraternity. 'Kudiyon Ka Hai Zamana' ('KKHZ') is all about women power and their high profile lifestyles in modern society. Rekha, the evergreen Bollywood diva, leads the pack of sensational and brazen girls that are out to prove their worth in male dominating society. Debutante director Amar Butala comes out with feminine trendy concept where high society women and girls talk about their changing lifestyles, modern trends and sex lives. The film forays into lifestyles of four leading ladies belonging to different financial, social and age backgrounds. The film promises to be a female oriented fun entertainment and is enriched with high glamour and comical quotient. 'KKHZ' comprises acting talents of beautiful Mahima Chaudhry, vivacious Kim Sharma and adorable Vasundhra Das in lead roles. It will be third film of Rekha and Mahima's team work onscreen after 'Lajja' and 'Dil Hai Tumhara'. Ashmit Patel, Nikhil Chinnapa, Kabir Sadanand and Sachin Khedkar play their love interests. New music composers Iqbal Darbar and Yasin Darbar have composed the music. Rekha has sensuously sung old classic number "Din Dhal Jaaye" from Dev Anand's classic 'Guide' . It was two decades before when she lent her voice in Hrishikesh Mukherjee's 'Khubsoorat' and this time she sings an old classic number of Mohammad Rafi.

KUDIYON KA HAI ZAMANA: The frolicking punch-line "Kudiyon Ka Hai Zamana" from a favorite song from "Didi Tera Dewar Deewana" ('Hum Aapke Hai Kaun') proves source of inspiration for the theme and title of the film. This fun filled feminine song comes with a festive touch with women partying with zest to celebrate their dominance over males. The full throttle folksy voice of Jaspinder Narula and chirpy vocals of Sunidhi Chauhan hold the centre stage with full thrust and passion. New lyricist Sahil Sultanpuri jumbles up phrases and words of "Didi Tera Dewar" into new set of lyrics that metaphor with the film's theme and characters. Iqbal and Yasin Darbar play the conventional "Bhangra" music molded in Bollywood style of work. The song initiates with synchronized "Sarangi" followed by traditional Punjabi beats and claps embedded in fast paced orchestration. It is sub-standard musical work and no big surprises are in store. Jaspinder sounds too loud in her gutsy act while Sunidhi stresses too much in this hip-shaking number.

DJ Suketu builds up dancing passions by repetitive and thrusting music with loud vocals of Jaspinder and Sunidhi in contemporary club mix style in "Kudiyon Ka Hai Zamana (remix)". It sounds better than the original work and can be played in marriages or on festive occasions. The trendy flavors of hip-hop lyrics are added to give it a youthful feel.

DIN DHAAL JAYE : The evergreen heartwarming number "Din Dhaal Jaye" cherishes senses with the vintage feel of 60's where stardom of Dev Anand rose to cosmic heights with the everlasting vocal impact of legendary Mohammad Rafi. Now, this soulful number gets revamped with perfection by Rekha in sensuous mood and her seductive singing attire. In an era where remix and remakes rule the show, this comes as decent improvisation and inspiration of evergreen number that still reminds of Bollywood's golden age. New composers -- Yasin and Iqbal Darbar -- play this number in unplugged fashion where there is minimum display of musical instrumentation while late S D Burman's composition was soulfully melodious. Rekha shows her flair of singing and surprises with her brilliance and versatility in this mesmerizing soundtrack.

ABHI ABHI : A lackluster contemporary Bollywood duet with unimpressive musical and lyrical work comes in the voice of Udit Narayan and new singer Ayesha Darbar in the soundtrack "Abhi Abhi". It has 80' and 90' feel and shows signs of mediocrity in its musical display. Udit Narayan sounds too ordinary with stale musical set up whereas Ayesha Darbar is completely ineffective in this avoidable soundtrack. AVOIDABLE!!!

JAANAM : Shaan's refreshing voice brings fresh whiff of air and gives first impression of pleasing and acceptable musical work from the music duo in the lovable soundtrack "Jaanam". It is by far the finest soundtrack of the album that will enthrall multiplex audiences for its "yuppie" flavors. The titillating feel of innocent love is created through endearing female chorus clubbed with fine piece of enchanting instrumentation in the background. Sadhna Sargam accompanies Shaan in this delightful soundtrack that sings the lyrics expressing sentiments of a love struck heart. Music duo Yasir and Iqbal score their first notable soundtrack where they have created melody embellished with fine set of lyrics. Shaan comes out with another captivating number that will add to his singing credits. The number has been given major importance in the album as it comes in another two versions sung by Shaan and Sadhna Sargam individually.

Shaan sings the male version in somber mood with almost negligible instrumentation in the background in the soundtrack "Jaanam (male version)". It comes straight from the heart where the protagonist sings in an heart-piercing manner to evoke pathos. This two- minute plus number will work wonders as background score and it once again proves Shaan's mettle as competent singer.

The sad and morose mood is maintained as Sadhna Sargam sings the female version in light pitched instrumentation in the soundtrack "Jaanam (female version)". Sadhna sings "mukhra" in pensive mood that narrates loneliness and isolation of the beloved.

KAMREIN MEIN AAJA : Vasundhra Das comes with mike for the first time in raunchy and seductive that is enriched with hip-hop styled music in the soundtrack "Kamrein Mein Aaja". It shows brighter side of Vasundhra as she has already sung disco tracks with élan and this comes with similar feel. The song has desired hip-shaking flavor and with its westernized beat attire, it will catch pop genre's attention. Suzanne sings in background while Rahul Seth sings hip-hop lyrics in a funky way. The slapstick lyrics have nothing to offer but its Latino-cum-hip-hop music might enthrall listeners.

The second version of "Kamrein Mein Aaja" comes in the voice of Shaan and Suzanne. Shaan sings with zeal and lifts the tempo with fast paced music supporting in the background.

"Kamrein Mein Aaja (Electro Probe Mix)" is contemporary disco number conceived to attract disco freaks and party animals with its foot-thumping nature. This time it's Chris McGuiness, Zoheb Khan, DJ Nawed and DJ-turned-actor Nikhil Chinnapa singing this remix soundtrack. It sounds as an exaggerated version where gallops of funky beats and loud chorus have been used to attract listeners. This will probably add to DJ's collector's library for its different DJ's techniques.

New music composers, Iqbal and Yasir Darbar, have sounded mediocre with a couple of above average soundtracks. They have excelled in soundtracks like "Jaanam" (all versions) and sounded mediocre in the title track and fast paced tracks like "Kamrein Mein Aaja" but the icing on the cake is Rekha rendered number "Din Dhal Jaaye". The album of 'Kudiyon Ka Hai Zamana' will be better known by Rekha's number than anything else. It stands negligible chance in competing with high profile albums like 'Jaan-eMann', 'Don' and 'Babul' in coming days.
