The Subhash Ghai camp is ready to chase the Chopra's much-publicized 'Veer Zaara' through 'Aitraaz' on the eve of Deewali. In this latest blockbuster from Mukta Arts, Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Amrish Puri would be found in main roles. The well-known duo, especially for thrillers and action-oriented dramas, Abbas-Mustan has directed this film. The most appraised composer among the present generation of Bollywood music directors, Himesh Reshammiya has decorated the lyrics of Sameer with his music. In this film Himesh gets the biggest break in his career. A total of 15 songs in one album at a flow for Himesh is a great opportunity. In most of the tracks Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik have given their voice. Sunidhi Chauhan, Adnan Sami, Jayes Gandhi, Kunal Gunjanwala, K.K and Alisha are also there to entertain the audience with their melodious voice. Sony Music has released the audio of this film.
The album starts with the Udit-Alka duet 'Aankhen Bandh Karke'. This song starts in the voice of Alka Yagnik and moves in a moderate speed, creating a soothing romantic mood. This is like the Bollywood style romantic love songs but Himesh makes a mark with music. This song is more appealing for lovebirds. The melodious music leads the song well maintaining the mood while the pitch of the voice remains the same.
The next to follow is mainly another Alka-Udit duet 'Tala Tum Tala Tum', but Jayesh Gandhi adds a background voice here. It is another love song but not as much appealing as the previous number. The intro lines 'Tala Tum' is little bit confusing. It is difficult to understand whether it has some meaning or just a phrase to catch the tune.
The journey on the romantic track continues with the next number 'Woh Tassavvur Ka Aalam'. This track is also an Alka-Udit romantic duet. Picturized in a party backdrop on Akshay and Kareena the lyric of Sameer sets the romantic mood at top in this track. Himesh's melodious music will once again touch the hearts of the listeners. This same track is repeated in side 'B' with Love Is Forever mix. This track is one to fit the most with the Indian melody category, which can be heard again and again.
Another romantic melody 'Nazar Aa Raha Hai' follows the next in the voice of Alka Yagnik and Udit Narayan on piano. This track is not that much appealing as a romantic melodious song. This song is also repeated at the end of this side in ' The Dream Lounge Mix '. In the repeated track the soft orchestra dominates whereas in the original track vocal was predominant. This mix track is more enjoyable and pleasant than the original version.
Breaking the flow of soft melody of Udit-Alka duo Adnan Sami and Sunidhi Chauhan steps in through the track 'Gela Gela Gela'. This is one more like 'Tala Tum' number in terms of lyric. Adnan and Sunidhi have come out well in this moderate paced track but fail to impress. It seems more like an item number. This song has again been repeated in side B in Dance on the beach mix. The repeated version of 'Gela Gela' with a mixed music does not make any impression as the vocal of Sunidhi and Adnan combo falls flat with weak lyrics.
After a gloomy track, 'Aitraaz- I want to make love to you' brings back the romantic mood on track. Sunidhi Chauhan has excelled in this track in her voice. The lyric and music are able to impress the listener. Though it seems like a title number yet it doesn't appear to be so. This track is the most entertaining track in this side and leaves a deep impact on the audience. This track is again repeated in the voice of Kunal Gunjanwala in side 'B'. After Kunal's 'Bhige Hont Tere' in 'Murder' this is the most pleasant track from him and would be able to leave the audience enthralled.
The second track in side 'B', 'Ye Dil Tum Pe Aa Gaya' breaks the series of romantic melodies being a foot tapping dance number. K.K. and Alisha have come together in vocal to leave the audience enthralled in this dance floor number. KK has sung this track very well with different pitch and variation. This is the first dance track or the album, which would be appreciated more by the youngsters and find its place in parties and get-togethers.
As a whole, the album of 'Aitraaz' is a mixture of some Bollywood style romantic melodies, remixes and dance numbers. The experimentation in most of the tracks with mixed music seems to be too much. While the romantic melodies are able to keep the audience occupied, the only dance number is able to attract those who look for musical masala flicks. For this festive season from the Ghai camp and Sony music this is a perfect musical presentation.
