Bollywood's sunshine girl Deepika Padukone is on cloud nine and rightly so. With her career going great guns and some exciting films in her kitty, the leggy beauty is now looking to consolidate her position in B-Town. Deepika says she has always been driven by work and variety attracts her. She has never been afraid of doing something just because it's different. In fact, each role that she has portrayed on screen so far has been in stark contrast from the other. She is now being linked with Farhan Akhtar. Deepika's portrayal as the new age girl in many flicks has endeared her to the audience. Speaking on how the film still has an impact on her, Deepika says, in real life too, she is not like Meera. In fact, she is always surrounded by her friends. When someone is in a romantic relationship, everything else takes a backseat.

SALMAN IN HOSPITAL

Actor Salman Khan is shooting for his brother Arbaz Khan's debut production 'Dabang' in Satara district had to be rushed to a hospital during the weekend. He is shooting a grueling sequence which required him to run through fire several times. The scene required Salman to shoot in close proximity with the fire and though everyone insisted on a single shot, the actor took several takes before the scene was canned and ended up breathless because of the smoke. Reportedly Salman wanted the scene to be flawless and ended up getting breathless since he was shooting close to so much fire. He had to be rushed to the hospital after the scene was successfully canned. In spite of the doctor's advice to take rest for the next couple of days Salman went back to shoot for the other scenes the very next day.

ABHI SALVAGES CO-STAR

Not only the shooting of Mani Ratnam's 'Raavana' is complete but also the post-production is in full swing. However, an incident from the last schedule of the movie is worth mentioning that the cast and the crew will never forget. Abhishek Bachchan plays Raavana and his co-star, South superstar Vikram plays Rama in the film. According to sources, there was a vital sequence in which Vikram had to climb down a 2000-feet high cliff. Action director Sham Kaushal had taken all necessary precautions to make sure there was minimal risk involved for the actors but he didn't know Vikram suffers from dizziness. Being a thorough professional, Vikram did not outright refuse to do the shot, but his anxiety while doing the rehearsals was sensed by co-star Abhishek Bachchan, with whom he shares a great working relationship. Abhishek volunteered to do the stunt himself. Abhishek began climbing down the mountain and asked Vikram to follow suit.

Who doesn't know that Amitabh Bachchan and Shashi Kapoor at one time ruled the Indian film industry? They had worked for some memorable films like 'Deewar', 'Trishul', 'Namakhalal', 'Kala Patthar', 'Kabhi Kabhie' etc but now things have changed for Shashi Kapoor. He is sadly confined to a wheelchair. Amitabh Bachchan in his blog expressed shock at the plight of the veteran actor when Shashi received the Lifetime Achievement award in a wheelchair. Amitabh Bachchan gave the Filmfare Awards a miss owing to conflict with the media sponsor. Earlier, the affable editor Jitesh Pillai had reportedly asked him if he would give the Lifetime achievement Award to Shashi Kapoor and he had agreed. He says seeing him confined to a wheel chair, was something he could never associate with Shashi ji.

KAMINEY' SEQUEL COMING

Shahid Kapoor and Vishal Bhardwaj are currently in talks about the possibilities of bringing out a sequel to 'Kaminey'. Shahid says he has spoken about making a sequel. And this time, they will make it more accessible. If last time, 75 per cent people understood and 25 per cent didn't get it, now they are aiming at the 25 per cent if they make a movie again.The actor also reveals that he is looking forward to working with Priyanka Chopra again. He loves what she did in 'Kaminey' and he would love to work with her again, he says.
