TV and Bollywood star and also a cricket commentator Mandira Bedi, who broke her leg on a reality show about two months back, is likely to resume work soon. She was confined to bed rest after fracturing her leg during 'Khatron Ka Khiladi Level-2' hosted by Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar. In Teacher's Achievement Awards, Mandira Bedi who was walking with a stick said, she would soon resume her work. You may recall that Mandira began her career with 'Shanti', a mega serial. She also worked in a supporting role in Aditya Chopra's blockbuster 'Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge'. Besides, she also proved an attractive cricket commentator.
STARS CREATE DISEASE AWARENESS
Bollywood sets a new trend in exploring rare diseases with directors casting superstars in roles. Thus, they are able to create awareness about such lesser-known ailments. Abhishek Bachchan and Vidya Balan say NGOs and social workers are cheering this move. In the upcoming flick 'Paa', Abhishek and Vidya are the parents of superstar Amitabh Bachchan and Big B plays a child affected with Progeria a rare genetic disorder where a child ages three times faster than normal. Abhi says those affected by the medical condition usually have a short lifespan and the average patient survives only upto the early teens. But some patients can live upto 30 years and the cause of death is usually related to the heart or a stroke. The director R Balki of 'Paa' accepts that cinema has the strength to help disease-affected people by portrayal.

Sanjay Dutt who is famous for his unstinted friendship proved it recently. The producer Vashu Bhagnani had promised Dutt to re-launch Neha Uberoi, daughter of Sanjay Dutt's manager Dharam Uberoi. But, later the producer dropped her name, which infuriated Dutt and he also left the flick without thinking twice. Neha has been replaced by the current Miss-India world Pooja Chopra. Sanju, who earlier worked for free for a guest appearance in Vashu Bhagnani's 'Kal Kissne Dekha' seems to be in no mood for reconciliation.
AHMAD SIGNS SHAHID FOR 'PATHSHALA'

Choreographer Ahmad Khan is back from the US after shooting for a song with his best-friend Shahid Kapoor. Ahmad is so much impressed with his star-pal that he has signed Shahid for his directorial project 'Pathshala'. In this 2-hour long flick, Shahid is there for an hour and his role is like Aamir Khan's in 'Taare Zameen Par'. Ahmad says Shahid will play the role of a teacher and they both have decided to focus on the kids in the marketing rather than on Shahid. Even the actor, Shahid says he is equally excited about the project and seeks inspiration from Aamir khan.

Salman Khan is also following in the footsteps of Aamir Khan by turning himself a perfectionist. Just like Aamir, Salman too is giving importance to the script of the film these days. This happened after his home production 'Main Aurr Mrs. Khanna' miserably failed at the box office. He says he has given his best in 'London Dreams' as the script is actually nice. Not only that he has hired a team of experts to read all the scripts before they come to him for approval. After the super success of his film 'Wanted', Sallu wants work in the best of the projects.

Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi was mobbed by a group of girls in Kolkata who tore his shirt while trying to kiss him on the cheek! The actor got a lesson of his life. This happened when Emraan was in Kolkata on November 6, 2009 to promote his forthcoming 'Tum Mile'. Emraan was supposed to be going to a store in the mall and was waiting near the escalator when the excited girls grabbed him and one of them kissed him. In their excitement, they ended up tearing his shirt. He bought a new shirt immediately and changed. Emraan is glad that only his shirt tore this time. The previous time, when he was in Hyderabad, he had lost his watch.
