Bollywood super star Aamir Khan's every move always has a purpose, be it for business or for social cause . This time he is doing something for his country and also a friend. After their 'Rang De Basanti', Aamir Khan as actor and Rakeysha Mehra as producer have teamed up for making a documentary for the Ministry of Tourism to encourage foreign tourism. This move is significant at this juncture when the country is faced from outside as well as inside threats. While the terrorists, especially the Taliban, has placed India after the US on its hit list, the confidence of foreign tourists, and females in particular, has shaken off after the gruesome Goa incident. Only last year, Aamir and Rakeysha had done a short film, to propagate tourism, which was well received. The tourism industry recently expressed the need to have powerful faces, names and images to counter the drubbing that the image of India as a paradise for tourists has taken. When Rakeysha was approached again by the tourism ministry, he approached Aamir, who agreed to do it.
Rakeysha proudly says that Aamir has become a brand ambassador for tourism in India. He saw the importance of his face and voice to call tourists back with the entire 'Atithee Devo Bhava' (guest is God) campaign. This time, Rakeysha will be shooting two more short films for the tourism department. "Promoting tourism is in a way, also promoting our film industry because any cultural exchange helps cinema. All of us love taking care of guests and Aamir`s face and personality are very inviting for tourists," he adds.
