Vijender Kumar who won bronze in boxing in the Beijing Olympics is on way to entering Bollywood with a bang. No sooner he won the medal, India television channels began calling him poster boy. You may recall that Bollywood's icon Bipasha Basu is already described as poster girl. That's why there is a buzz in the entertainment industry that India's third medal winner at the Olympics Vijender Kumar is hot property because of his good looks. This is not far from truth. The Olympian is ready to start modeling! He says, "Once I'm back in India, I'll get very busy with lots of work. Meanwhile, I also have been getting loads of endorsement offers, but nothing has been finalized." Vijender who carried the Indian flag at the closing ceremony of the Beijing Olympics on Sunday, took no time to discount all rumors of going on a date with Bipasha Basu, as mentioned in the Indian media. In fact, the boxer wondered as to "why would I date Bipasha when I know that she has a boyfriend already?" However, he admits: "I did come to know that she had spoken about dating me, but I haven't given it a thought."

At the same time, Vijender says that he is looking forward to meeting his family and giving it the medal he got in Beijing Olympics. " I have not done any shopping there for my family." Though he regrets losing gold and getting only bronze, he is happy that his teammates have assured him of doing their best in the future to win the highest honor for their country. This is to recall that Vijender is already in modeling. The Men's magazine Maxim has already shot him. Besides, he has an offer for walk on the ramp in the Fashion Week. It's likely that Vijender will blast the myth that only cricketers can enter stardom. Hopefully, the glamour world will not change its well-established practice of saluting the rising Sun, and Vijender and other Olympians would be welcome in Bollywood.
