In the entertainment industry where only glamour works, celebrities during their way to the top hardly take time to bid goodbye to friends and old mates. However, Shahid Kapoor is an exception. The actor made it a point to celebrate his childhood friend's birthday even while he was shooting recently. Shahid and Shriram have been inseparable childhood friends for the last 18 years. A crewmember reveals, "Shahid was shooting for Vishal Bharadwaj's 'Kaminay' in Pune. This was August 11, the birthday of his childhood friend Shriram, who lives in Bangalore. So, Shahid called Shriram to Pune. Saying that he had some urgent work and needed his friend to come to Pune. It was only when Shriram came to Pune that he realized that Shahid had thrown a surprise birthday get-together for him.

Also, Shahid had earlier requested Vishal Bharadwaj to allow him to pack up early so that he could spend more time with his childhood friend. Vishal and the entire crew of 'Kaminay' were not only surprised but also moved to see this human side of Shahid." In fact, Shahid has a lot to celebrate this year. He is the only hero to have 3 back-to-back solo hero hits in 'Vivaah', 'Jab we Met' and 'Kismat Konnection', quite a commendable feat considering that multi-starrers are ruling the roost in Bollywood right now. Not only that, this year Shahid's forthcoming films with either Vishal Bharadwaj or Yashraj or Ken Ghosh or his dad (Pankaj Kapoor), are solo starrers. Great, isn't it?
