Salman Khan has already started shooting for a mega film 'Veer' with its director Anil Sharma. Sallu is taking an extraordinary interest in this movie. This has gladdened director Sharma. In fact, the important cast is already finalized but Sallu wants to announce the lead female actor's name himself and in a big way. You can guess about it. He has already cast Mithun Chakraborty to play his father. Though he is still very busy in the shooting of his reality show '10 ka Dum', the actor takes time out to confer with the writers to supervise the progress of the Rs 750 million film. He wants to ensure that everything goes perfectly. The film will be shot in Rajasthan and Scotland.

'MUMBAI MERI JAAN' RELEASING AUG 22

Isn't it an irony that when some film producers try to delay the press screenings till Friday afternoons so that negative film reviews do not spoil their opening day collections, UTV shows their film three weeks before its scheduled release though to a select media. For instance, UTV's 'Mumbai Meri Jaan' starring Paresh Rawal, Irrfan Khan, Kay Kay Menon, Soha Ali Khan, Madhavan and Vijay Maurya, scheduled to release on Aug 22nd has already been shown to the media. The reason is obvious; the company is confident of its content. Incidentally, the movie is based on the 7/11 serial train blasts that shook Mumbai in 2006. So, it focuses on how the blasts affect the lives of five characters central to this film. This isn't a new concept for UTV as they had adopted a similar marketing strategy, couple of years back, for their small budgeted film 'Khosla Ka Ghosla' by screening it two weeks prior to its release and it worked wonders.

    AMEESHA TURNS HOT BABE

Ajay Chandoke, who is working with Ameesha Patel in 'Chatur Singh', is very much excited. He says that the actress is back to her past image of a fresh and hot babe. She is linked with her directors (not co-stars) not for nothing, and that's why her 'Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic' director Kunal Kohli couldn't escape the media attention of pyaar between them.

WAHEEDA: ONLY MADHURI CAN REPLACE ME IN 'GUIDE'

Delhi based 'Zinda hoon main' singer-composer Shibani Kashyap has traveled a long way since her 'Ho Gayi Hai Mohabbat Tumse' days to rock Hollywood with her melodious voice in 'Blood Money'. She is very excited with this new Hollywood venture though the producer and writer of 'Blood Money' are of Indian origin. The corporate, political thriller named "Blood Money" is a cause-oriented film about financial terrorism, and will be shot in India, North America and other parts of Asia . The film combines realistic cinema with drama and songs of Bollywood in a unique mix of dramatic and popular sensibilities.

    KAREENA TO HONOR DESI PROJECTS

    click for larger view
Isn't Kareena Kapoor the most patriotic actor in Bollywood? Why else would she decline Hollywood's offer and opt for the desi one? This is in spite of several overseas offers for her, presumably because of her international look attracting Hollywood filmmakers. More significant is that she has refused these overseas offers to meet her Bollywood commitments. Kareena's spokesperson adds, "It is true that Kareena was offered a role in 'Chamera', which is to be directed by Daniel Silverman, but she has not signed on the dotted lines." When asked whether she is doing any Hollywood film at all, the spokesperson further adds, "Kareena is busy for the next one and a half year with her Bollywood projects. So, she will not do any international film till then. The spokesperson claims that Kareena was also offered two other Hollywood films.
