'SARKAR RAJ' GOES HOLLYWOOD

Ram Gopal Varma's 'Sarkar Raj' has been chosen for the Academy of Motion Pictures library (Oscar). This is significant inasmuch as masterpieces like 'Finding Nemo', 'Million Dollar Baby' and 'The Passion of the Christ', have got this honor. You may recall that mega films like 'Devdas', 'Kal Ho Na Ho' and 'Lagaan' had been nominated for this honor in the past. It is learnt that the script of 'Sarkar Raj' will be available at the Oscar library for ready reference of cinema students there. Incidentally, the movie stars all the three Bachchans- Amitabh, Abhishek and Aishwarya, together for the first time.
The movie is the sequel to 'Sarkar' and it was an intense film on politics highlighting the power games. The library has a collection of more than 32,000 books, 1,800 periodical titles, 60,000 screenplays, lobby cards, over 8 million photographs, over 300 manuscripts and other special collections relating to prominent industry individuals, studios and organizations, sheet music, music scores, sound recordings, production, costume sketches, artifacts and oral history. So, Ram Gopal Varma feels proud that he is honored with the script of one of his movies finding place in the world's most important library for movies.
