Ram Gopal Varma who is known for his fear-based movies like 'Darna Mana Hai', 'Darna Zaroori Hai' and 'Ghost' will soon bring another same genre flick titled 'Phoonk - A Black Magic'. This will be his next after recently released 'Sarkar Raj' and 'Contract'. 'Phoonk' revolves around supernatural theme. Produced by Azam Khan and Praveen Nischol, the movie will deal with original and high interest topic of black magic and fear, which Varma has explored in his signature style. In a recent interview in Mumbai, Varma said, "The film explores the psychological state of a man who does not believe in black magic and it is not so much about the black magic as about that psychological state."
Varma added, "I have put an ordinary family in extraordinary situation, the audiences should identify themselves with ''this family''. There are no commercial items in this film, it is about black magic it is about fear." Varma announced that as in the recent past, his star cast will comprise new faces like Sudeep, Amruta Khanivilkar, Shrey Bawa, Kenny Desai and Lillete Dubey in prominent roles. The film is all set to release on August 22.
