Harman Baweja's next movie 'Victory' that was all set for release on November 14 is likely to be deferred for a week. Harman has presently requested the filmmakers to postpone its release to November 21. Reliable sources attribute this to two considerations by Harman. First, there are two other mega movies releasing the same day, and Harman doesn't want to repeat the fate of his debut movie 'Love Story 2050' having flopped in competition with Aamir Kan's nephew Imraan Khan's debut 'Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na' in the recent past. Second, the two releases are Karan Johar's 'Dostana' and Madhur Bhandarkar's 'Fashion'. Interestingly, both the movies have Harman's love interest Priyanka in the lead role. So, Harman has sought the deferment of his 'Victor' by a week as not to compete with Priyanka starrer two much hyped movies.
This is in spite of the fact that the release date of 'Victory' was announced some two months ago. Harman wants to avoid facing two mega blockbusters releasing on the same date. Karan Johar has announced November 14 as the release date for his 'Dostana', which is directed by his assistant Tarun Mansukhani. The film stars Abhishek Bachchan, John Abraham, Bobby Deol and Priyanka Chopra. UTV has also announced that Madhur Bhandarkar directed 'Fashion' will release on November 14. 'Fashion' stars Priyanka, Kangana Ranaut and Arbaaz Khan. (Priyanka plays lead in both movies! ) Incidentally, Harman's 'Victory' is a sport-based film, with Harman playing the character of an Indian cricket player. It's directed by debutant director Ajit Pal.
