Feroz Khan's 1980 blockbuster 'Qurbani' remake is reported to be directed by Sanjay Gupta. Sanjay Gupta is a die-hard Feroz Khan fan and this remake is his way of paying tribute to the cinema of 1980s that he has always admired. But Khan was so much impressed by Gupta's enthusiasm that he decided to produce the new 'Kurbani' jointly with him. Presently, Fardeen is slated to step into his father's role. The stars to play Vinod's, Zeenat Aman's Amjad Khan's roles have yet to be decided. Gupta was faced with choice of casting Vinod's and Amjad's sons, but found the idea too gimmicky, and will not play around with his home-age to the hit film and its flamboyant maker. But what is likely is that Mallika Sherawat will play Zeenat's role.
