Gorgeous actress Tulip Joshi has been known in the tinsel world for several years but with different names. She started off as "Sanjana" followed by "Anjali" in Tamil cinema. But, the beautiful actress made sparkling start with the Yashraj banner's 'Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai'. It was followed by yuppie love story 'Dil Mange More' along with all new actors like Shaahid Kapoor, Soha Ali Khan and Ayesha Takia. Tulip has had a contrast change in her career though with the thought-provoking film that proved critical success at international film festivals. The film was Manish Jha's first directorial offering 'Matrubhoomi', a film about destitute rural woman traumatized by village outlaws. Now, the scintillating beauty has big plans in future with films like 'Shunya' and 'Hostel'.
Like 'Matrubhoomi', these two films are the brainchild of first time directors with different subjects. It seems that she is proving a lucky mascot for these young directors. 'Shunya' is Arindam Mitra's first directorial presentation inspired by the life and career of cricketer Mohammad Azharruddin. Tulip plays the role of Azhar's actress-turned-wife Sangeeta Bijlani with KK donning the character of Azharruddin. It was her sports background that brought her close to her friend and producer Shehnab Alam, who offered her role in this film. 'Hostel' is a film about ragging where she plays an eighteen-year old girl. It's male oriented film by debutante director Manish Gupta where she essays a pivotal role. These two films are supposed to hit the marquee in the last few weeks of this year. The resplendent and enchantingly beautiful actress has couple of interesting regional projects in her kitty, too.
