Anara Gupta, a former Miss Jammu , who was in the limelight for her video clip she allegedly starred in and the subsequent court fight she waged to clear her name ,has entered Bollywood by playing herself in a movie titled 'Anara'. The movie is being directed by B.R. Ishara of the 'Insaaf Ka Mandir', 'Kaagaz Ki Naav' and 'Ek Nazar' fame. Besides, Ishara had directed 'Hukumnama' starring Raj Babbar, Farah, Mukesh Khanna in key roles in 1995. While talking to the media on the muhurt of the movie in Delhi, Anara Gupta said that the movie's story is based on the real incidents that occurred in her life , and how the power has been misused to make an innocent girl's life miserable.
" This is not my story only. This is the story of many girls who are exploited by the men in power. I am asked to play the role myself as I am considered to do full justice to the character." Replying about her future career, she said, " I shall continue to do such movies that carry a message." Was she nervous after her video clip was circulated? " No, why should I when the video was not based on the reality? However, my family had to wage a long battle to bring the truth out. The video was sent to the forensic laboratory, and it was found that I was falsely implicated. This CD had stolen the smile from my face that the city of Jammu had once showered on me by crowning me as Miss Jammu. This CD was made with the help of my look-alike." The movie will be released next year, she added.
