A Vikram Bhatt production implies the movie is true to its name. 'Love' is usually found in the movies but this time the director has added 'Lies' and 'Betrayal' too. Take a guess and you'll be right about the movie focusing on the oft-repeated theme of extra-marital relations. And, this is how the story goes. A couple live in their large mansion in Scotland. The lady named Anjini (Nausheen) goes around in a luxurious car but gives violin lessons. She has a household to take care of. Her husband (Akshay Kapoor) is broke. They quarrel with each other all the time and bemoan their economic conditions. The husband one day proposes that they sell the house to tide over their economic problem. But the wife is sentimentally attached to the house and refuses as it was her deceased parents' property.
As is usual in an Indian family, the talks turn emotional. But they agree on finally renting out a portion of the palace. The debut director Vishal Pandya, who assisted Vikram Bhatt for nine years, introduces at this stage a nightclub singer (Ashish Chaudhry) who hires their house. As is to be expected, against the backdrop of a growling broke husband, the nightclub singer takes advantage and seduces the landlady. The lady has to now deal with two men - husband as well as the tenant. While the former is completely uncooperative, the latter wins her heart. The growling husband admits often after a few drinks that in the house it's his wife who wears the pants! After some days of fights and arguments the husband realizes that the singer may have already bedded his wife!

A critic's view of this movie's biggest flaw is the disconnect between the characters. They work very well individually but fail as a team. An additional feature is the innovative use of nursery rhymes -- Jack and Jill and Humpty Dumpty. These rhymes create a kind of novelty in the dialogue. The Bhatts have fully availed the three nights-four days free stay from Scotland tourism for making the countryside look so serene. Also, the background score by Raju Rao of the 'Raaz' fame is indeed effective. In terms of acting, though she's from television and quite new to the big screen yet actress Nausheen Ali Sardar known as Kusum performs very well. Akshay Kapoor fares rather well too and Ashish Chaudhry plays a good villain as he pleases the audience, especially with his songs. "Raat Aye To..." is a praiseworthy score of the movie. Overall, the movie is worth a watch!
