Among Friday's six movie releases, 'Toss' has failed to come up to people's expectation in more than one department. Though the subject generated a huge interest among the urban crowds but in vain as all those who watched the movie went home disappointed. The movie lacked its most essential part - the content. Content is king and its weakness in 'Toss' disappointed the urbanites who eagerly waited for the movie. Another flaw is in its music. Even the movie being a thriller loses its thrill. This is missing throughout the movie.

The movie's story is interesting. Toss is the captivating story of childhood friends who on their way back from a vacation stumble upon a fortune. They decide to split the money and start dreaming a king's life. They calculate the actions, risks, percentages- but forget to calculate the human heart. Soon before they realize the owners of the booty are after them, the law is after them and worse ...they are after each other. Then, as is usual in such a circumstance, booty becomes the root cause of a fight; they start finding fault with each other.

This is indeed the right moment for the scriptwriter to develop the subject and identify it with the audience. But, it's not only missing but also sometimes annoying. This is indeed a weakness of screenplay. We wonder if it's because of lack of experience on the part of the writer. Thus, a good subject of public interest goes waste due to lack of good screenplay. The director is equally responsible for letting this happen. Again, he is new too. We are sorry that director Ramesh Khatkar fails in his debut job.

The movie's plus point is its acting department that has performed its part very well. Among them, Prashant Raj is on top with his excellent performance. Ashmit Patel and Aarti Chhabria have also done well. But, experienced and talented actors like Mahesh Manjrekar and Rajpal Yadav haven't delivered their usually good performances. The audience expected much more from them. The music department remains weak. The compositions of Sandesh Shandilya and Siddharth-Suhas fail to enthuse the audience.

Overall, 'Toss' fails only because of lack of screenplay and its weak music. The director needs to look into these aspects in his future works.
