'Love Khichdi' is a collection of romantic moments assembled by director Srinivas Bhashyam with seven women with seven different flavors. The protagonist in Randeep Hooda looks at all of them with an eye full of lust. That's why the director has presumably titled it 'Love Khichdi'. But, will the viewer appreciate it? Does it provide adequate appetite to him or her? This is a moot question before the critic. Let's anylyse the movie. Vir played by Randeep Hooda is a bachelor from a small town Chandigarh. He moves to work as a chef in a hotel in Mumbai. He is handsome, charming and macho. That's why he indulges with women. He flirts with one, yeans for another and continues his game plan until he reaches the seventh.

He comes across all types of flavors ranging from a simple to a well educated to an all powerful to a maid! His lust never lasts even though one charming woman intimidates him after another. He meets Shanta Bai played by Sonali Kulkarni, whom he ogles as she wipes the floor of his house. He woos even Nafisa played by Kalpana Pandit, who isn't less than a man hater. Even the powerful call-center executive Sharmishta played by Rituparna Sengupta and a bold and beautiful woman from Punjab like Parminder played by no less than pretty Divya Dutta fail to meet his appetite for lust! Don't forget that Vir has Sada playing Sandhya Iyengar too who he takes as a permanent accessory.

According to the movie's story, Vir doesn't really agree with his boss, master chef played by Saurabh Shukla who reminds him of the futility of running after 99 women when the special one could be around the corner! After all, you should love one who also loves you. But, Vir is a different creature who desires more and more. Isn't it true in the case of some of us howsoever big we may be? The recent cases of stars cheating their maids or trainees are a testimony. So, director Srinivas Bhashyam depicts Vir's travel like that of any urbanite male's fantasy. Anyway, Vir ends his journey on a happy note with the right choice.

The movie has innovations; its characters speak the truth, they open their hearts before the audience. Randeep Hooda playing a flirt performs excellently well. Besides, the movie has a galaxy of female actors who excel in looking like their characters. They are pretty looking and doing full justice to their assigned roles. Sandhya Iyengar is a simple next door girl and so also Parminder Kaur, a regular scene-stealer. Vir ogles at his maid played by Kulkarni. Then there is the bookstore woman played by Rituparna Sengupta, and the hot Gujju schoolgirl played by Riya Sen, who is considered too sexy for her skirt. Music by Pritam has gone very well. Overall, the movie is a good comedy, worth a watch for its story, actors, short duration, tight editing and good direction.
