'Shadow' is made for Naseer Khan and he plays the protagonist. Though he is blind he plays stunts that defy death. So, the movie provides as much masala as a Bollywood movie could afford to absorb. Nasser is not an actor and it's clear from several sequences in the movie. But his childhood dream to play a hero in big screen seems to be fulfilled. Hence, the scriptwriters and the director had a very tough task of creating Naseer Khan's shadow!
Now, the story of the movie revolves around a serial murder named Arjun Sherawat who is played by Nasser Khan. The police is unable to catch Nasser as no body can identify him. Sanjana played by Sonali Kulkarni is a police officer dealing with the case. She is unable to solve it. A crime reporter named Sheetal played by pretty Hrishitaa Bhatt works with a news channel. She has some information about the criminal. She has a rival too in Rahul played by Milind Soman, a press reporter from another news channel. Milind constantly nags Sanjana, the police officer dealing with this case.

In spite of a police officer and two reporters following this case there is no end to murders taking place at short intervals. In the meantime, Sheetal passes a piece of crucial information to the police about Arjun Sherawat's next target. The criminal meets with an accident and is presumed dead! Everyone heaves a sigh of relief until they receive an audio clip, which states that Arjun will kidnap a famous builder Habeeb Faizal played by Mushtaq Khanon on a certain date. This baffles everyone. The reason is apparent; Arjun not only survives but also succeeds in hitting his target. Since the movie is made for Naseer, the script writers have to take the story further. This is another matter that the movie fails to attract one's attention from here onwards. So, the director introduces the vital element of a Bollywood movie.

The director enacts romantic scenes between Nasser and Sonali, but they fail to click. Even the first half of the movie gets lost in the latter part. Even though the story is weak especially in the second half, it has some very special features like a blind man playing dangerous stunts. These scenes are worth a watch. Besides, Anand Raaj Anand's music that caters to the masses and fits well for this genre of a movie. Rohit Nayyar's shots are perfect. Cinematography is good particularly of the stunts. Milind Soman fares very well. There is a flaw too; Sonali Kulkarni who looks too weighty is assigned an item song. That doesn't go well though. Hrishitaa Bhatt and Samir Aftab have hardly much of a role; they are wasted. Sachin Khedekar plays the usual mandatory villain's part, but with ease. The characters played by Vishwajeet Pradhan and Mushtaq Khan are worth a mention. We wonder if the movie will prove a hit at multiplexes.
