'Teree Sang' is another movie dealing with a sensitive and a serious subject concerning today's society. This is about the relationship between the parents and their children. While today's released 'Chal Chalein' focuses on hardships suffered by children at the hands of both their parents as well as teachers, 'Teree Sang' directed by Satish Kaushik takes up the cause of teenage pregnancy vis-à-vis their parents. Significantly, Kaushik has brought it after his Himesh Reshammiya starrer flop 'Karzzz'. Kaushik stresses on the communication gap between the parents and their children. This is relevant in metropolis in particular.
A 15-year-old Delhi girl Maahi played by Sheena Shahabad hailing from a prosperous family becomes friend with Kukoo aged 17, played by Ruslaan Mumtaz of the 'Mere Pehla Pehla Pyar' fame. The girl befriends a neighborhood boy who doesn't match with her status. So, the girl's father who is a rich lawyer threatens to sue the boy's father, a rickshaw driver! The kids run away from home. Then, the story revolves around the acceptance of mistake and owing responsibilities for the same.

Why does it happen? The director believes that it's due to lack of parental love. He clarifies that it's not because parents do not want to, but because their focus is not right inasmuch as they are either busy with their business or profession leaving their kids in the care of nannies or in crèches. Consequently, the children grow up while missing parents' love when they need it the most. Thus, these very children take refuse elsewhere; either they turn rebels or get addicted to drugs.

The theme is relevant in today's society. The director has done full justice to his job. His characters are impressive and players leave no stone unturned. The film has an interesting first-half but it becomes slow later as Kaushik emphasizes on portraying girl and boy! Acting-wise, while Sheena is impressive though a newcomer, Ruslaan Mumtaz as Kukoo plays his character very well. Satish Kaushik is extremely pleased with his decision to cast Ruslaan Mumtaz. In Ruslaan he saw the same spark as he saw in Tusshar Kapoor whom he launched in 'Mujhe Tumse Kuchh Kahna Hai' opposite Kareena Kapoor in 2001. He has tried working with newcomers earlier as well. For Bhumika Chawla, her first Hindi film was 'Tere Naam'. He wanted a different face opposite Salman Khan and got that in Bhumika. He is confident even Ruslaan and Sheena Shahabadi, the debutant girl in the film, will be appreciated in a big way by audiences.

The director says that he made a lot of research before making the movie. He said this during his recent visit to Delhi while launching the movie's music. Besides him, his wife, Sunil Lulla and his wife Krishika, Ahmed Khan with his wife and Parmeet Sethi and Archana Puran Singh were among the couples who graced the occasion. All through the launch the lead pair of Ruslaan Mumtaz and Sheena Shahabadi was seen smiling as the producers, the directors and others from the industry congratulated them on their on-screen performance.

Satish Kaushik is known for making musically sound films. In 'Teree Sang', he has promising duo Sachin-Jigar (former assistants to Pritam) making their first solo commercial presence. Sachin-Jigar makes peppy-fizz start to this bubble-gummer's special album with vibrant guitar strums, youthfully crooned signature tune (''Aa-ee-Aa-Oh...'') in somber ''n'' supple friendship track ''I Will Be There for You.'' Clinton and Dominique Cerjo voices makes ''cool'' splash of madcap gush of communion with snazzy chorals adding up to this feast. The soundtracks work impressively as signature track for this flick.
