It's business in Bollywood again. So, the industry must rejoice. Though the economic slowdown hasn't completely disappeared in general, at least there is a sigh of relief in the entertainment industry following the multiplexes releasing new movies from this Friday (June 12). This is indeed a great day for Jacky Bhagnani as his debut film 'Kal Kissne Dekha' has hit the screens. Jacky Bhagnani, son of producer Vashu Bhagnani, has done everything to make his launch a successful one. Junior Bhagnani has already made it to the headlines after shaking a leg with Kareena Kapoor at the Filmfare Award Night of 2008. On the eve of release of his film, he will be in Macau to perform at IIFA awards. A preview of the film is also scheduled there. Incidentally, Vivek Sharma, of the 'Bhoothnath' fame, has directed this launch pad 'Kal Kissne Dekha' for Jacky Bhagnani opposite another new face - Vaishali Desai - none other than grandniece of Bollywood giant late Manmohan Desai.

'Kal Kissne Dekha' ('KKD') is a youth-oriented film, largely based on happenings in a campus. The director warns that it's not a mushy teenage love story, and claims it full of amazing twists and turns and, of course, some really good characters! The movie tells the tale of Jacky playing Nihal Singh. He is cheerful yet unconventional, hailing from Chandigrah (Punjab). He loves making complex widgets and is a gifted child who oozes oodles of charm. Once in college, Nihal enters a new world where he is hardly taken seriously. He is ragged and mocked by fellow peers. Yet, he slowly wins them over by his charisma and meets his love Meesha (Vaishali), the favorite spoilt brat of college who is rude, proud and filthy rich.

One thing that pretty Meesha cannot digest is the fact Nihal making his own fan following. Apart from college students, Nihal impresses Professor Verma played by Rishi Kapoor, who eventually becomes his mentor. The story takes a twist when Nihal starts getting visions of Meesha's life in danger. In order to save the love, Nihal gets his secret revealed! Though Meesha softens her stand against Nihal and love blossoms between the two, yet, things do not end here as once the news of Nihal's special power spreads, his ability to see to future becomes the buzzword for media. Is Nihal going to be manipulated for his unique gift? Will Nihal be able to stop the conniver who is trying to use him? The movie hardly unfolds the mystery.

Why did Vashu name it 'Kal Kissne Dekha'? It seems to be a poser about the manner in which the future would unfold for those who are living in the present. So, it's apt for any debutant star who has the desire to be a part of the future to make his future secure by making such a guess as to what is likely to happen to him or her in the future. This trend came from Hollywood and spread to Bollywood. Movies like 'Kaho Na Pyaar Hai' and 'Krrish' introduced this in B-town. The movie is splendid as it has been extensively shot in various university campuses of South Africa and also in Thailand and New Zealand. Actors like Rishi Kapoor, Shah Rukh Khan, Juhi Chawla, and Sanjay Dutt are seen in a brief role in the movie. Apart from them other cast includes Archana Puran Singh, Irrfan Khan and Javed Jaffrey. Critically examining the movie, we find that the director lacks in many respects. He shows New Zealand and South Africa as Mumbai.

How then could the hero in Mumbai drive his car from ground floor parking lot to 15th floor of a building and also jump directly on a yacht and that too without getting hurt. Similarly, no cause is found behind Rahul Dev's hurling of blasts. Moreover, the director includes each and every person available to the producer in the cast. That's why there is a medley of actors including special appearances. Even 'Slumdog Millionaire's Rubina Ali and Azhar are there though for 2 seconds. Similar can be said about Sanjay Dutt and Akshay. Sorry to say that it has adversely affected the debut of two promising newcomers.

Acting-wise, Jackky makes a mark and so also Vaishali Desai. Both have proved their acting skills. Rishi Kapoor plays well his professor's role. Rahul Dev as a villain is good too. Archana Puran Singh as Jacky's mom is okay but not Rachana Shah as Rahul Dev's aide. Satish Shah doesn't impress in the role of Vaishali's dad. Ritesh Deshmukh is hilarious in a cameo. Technically, the movie is good. Sajid - Wajid's music is a mixture of good peppy numbers and melody. So are Sameer's lyrics. With enough campus content in it, the movie may turn out to be a favorite hangout of the young generation
