'Jugaad' is a movie based on the real life incident of a filmmaker/ director, who suffered intensely on account of the infamous sealing drive started by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) in 2007-08, on the instruction of the court. The victim has no way out of the impasse that affects his livelihood. He tries to overcome it by resorting to what we call jugaad. Hence the director has titled it by this name. This is the story of thousands of families who fell a victim to this drive and also won public sympathy even though they had entered into unauthorized constructions. The victims as well as the public wondered as to why the authorities let it happen before their eyes. Apparently, they were a party to it, they alleged.
According to the movie's plot, Sandip Kapur played by Manoj Bajpai, heads an advertising agency. In spite of leading a demanding life, the sealing of his agency office by the MCD adds to his woes. Despite his best efforts, Sandip fails to reestablish his agency and consequently finds himself alone on the road, though with his team. Left with no option he falls in the commonly known trap of jugaadbaazi. Thus, he succeeds in getting together the property dealers, power brokers, politicians and senior officers involved into it.

Since this kind of jugaad isn't new and has been happening with the people of Delhi for decades, they have learnt the never-say-die attitude in their life. Thus, the movie takes a comic turn from here. The filmmaker is the real ad agency owner Anand Kumar who has undergone this ordeal in his real life. Apart from it, he has made another film based on such a subject, especially concerning the Delhiites (Delhi residents) and not in the distant past. He made a film titled 'Delhi Heights' in 2007.

It's another matter that it didn't succeed at the box office. However, Anand Kumar is very optimistic about this second movie turning a grand success. He has shot it mostly in Delhi and Gurgaon, where the sealing drive affected the people most. Any movie succeeds when it contains other elements like romance and comic besides depicting the true incident. Incidentally, the movie has a different but a nice way of narration of dialogues and so also equally interesting characterizations, which are vital for the success of a movie. Acting-wise, Manoj Bajpai is on the top; he proves that he is a versatile actor. He exhibits his comic side, too. He plays funny more than expected.

Among other funny characters are Vijay Raaz and Sanjay Mishra who help the viewers enjoy a lot of laughter in cinema halls. Hrishita Bhatt is damn beautiful and acts very well though her role is limited. Lyricists include Sameer, Rohit Sharma, Mohd. Nasir and Saahiel . They have penned words for its songs, composed by Sachin Gupta and Krishna. However, the music lacks in many ways. We wish the director had given adequate attention to this department too. Critically analyzing we can conclude that the filmmaker of 'Jugaad' has succeeded in espousing the cause of the sufferers by drawing the public attention but in a hilarious way. Hence the movie is a good entertainer worth a watch.
