Isn't it a matter of big relief for India that even in the wake of last week's terrorist attacks in financial capital of India, killing over hundred and injuring several hundreds in Mumbai, five movies are releasing there this Friday? Great indeed. Bravo Mumbaiites!! Of the five movies, 'Dil Kabbadi' is the most romantic entertainer, perhaps. The movie begins with Irfan Khan announcing from the rooftop that husbands and wives have nothing to do with romance! Yes, despite all this, the movie is quite romantic. The movie depicts the true picture of most of the households, if not all. The movie emphasizes that in the most of the cities though husbands and wives live under the same roof, yet there is no love lost among them.

They begin the day with some or the other quarrel among them. However, they soon go to their jobs. The housewives do talk to their confidant neighbors about their day's quarrelsome tales and exchange their problems among them, both at home or in office. This shows that they have no romance or love for each other. No, it's not that. They forget it when the couples meet in the evening after their respective jobs. However, there are a few cases where the quarrel takes a wrong turn. Nowadays, Indian couples are following in the footsteps of the Westerners and therefore husband and wife disputes are growing too fast and entering courtrooms.

In 'Dil Kabaddi', justly titled and meaning that hearts play the game of kabaddi, Irfan finds his wife Soha too cold and therefore mingles with his aerobic instructor played by Payal Rohatgi who plays doctor-nurse with him. This is in spite of her being a mentally challenged person. Soha tries her hand anew with the ghazal loving journo, Rahul Khanna. Here, she fails because of Khanna's extra-sensitivity. On the other hand, Rahul Bose considers everything's all right between him and wife Konkona.

However, he falls for his wild film school student (Saba Azad) because of the latter's scripts. At this point, we find Konkona falling for Rahul Khanna. This is another matter that Konkana plays matchmaker between him and Soha. This is intriguing though. However, it's a fact that this trend is developing too fast in India following liberalization of economy and increasing consumerism. Really, it's the effect of break up of joint family system in India, particularly among urbanites. Husbands and wives have been quarreling in Indian society for ages but not leading to break-ups as in the West. Many a wife commits sati by putting herself on the pyre of their dead husband, or by observing sometime too harsh instructions of their partners. Significantly, the wives aren't far behind these days in taking up small matters to their hearts and turning equally vocal and proactive.

Anyway, the movie though good to watch but not to practice is attracting thin crowds in the Capital because of the five movies releasing today. Since the theme centers on the current household scenario, it may attract larger crowd as compared to other releases. The story is good and so is its direction. It begins well but doesn't end up so well. The actors have performed very well even in the wake of too many relationships growing, breaking and bonding. The star cast is huge comprising Irfaan Khan, Soha Ali Khan, Konkana Sen Sharma, Payal Rohatagi and Rahul Bose, to name a few.

As a whole, the movie passes the test. So, why not spare time and some money to watch a galaxy of your favorite stars.
