Mashoor Amrohi, the director, actor and writer of 'Hum Sey Hai Jahan' and also the grandson of Kamal Amrohi, has indeed gone wrong in launching his career with this movie that he made in a great haste. Mashoor wished to turn a hero and therefore plunged himself into the venture without even proper preparations. The movie was completed in fifty days as scheduled. Though he had initially signed a renowned heroine opposite himself, but the former quit seeking higher professional fee. Mashoor them signed Vishaka Singh. It is wondered if he wished to make a commercial movie or a comedy as it ends in a disaster, leaving the viewers totally confused at the climax. Nobody expected this from the grandson of a renowned filmmaker like Kamal Amrohi. Though the movie isn't bad technically as the camera and the direction have been fairly good, but the content and especially its language used during the movie, is nowhere close to decency. The language is bad or rather foul at places.

Let's look at the story. The movie revolves around the life of a Singaporean con man named Sameer Khanate played by Mashoor Amrohi himself. The hero lands up working as a 'recovery agent' for Gary Rosario whose character is played by none other than Jackie Shroff. Jackie is a goon and owns nightclubs. Incidentally, Sameer earns his living by cheating people of their money. But, his life changes dramatically when his brother needs money to overcome his financial problem.

He begs help from his boss but the latter refuses to help. So, frustrated Sameer plans to kidnap Esha, the daughter of a superstar named Gyaneshwar Singh played by Shehzad Khan, to tide over his financial problems. Sameer cheats Esha by pretending to fall in love with her. Vishaka Singh plays the character of Esha. Esha doesn't realize the Sameer's game plan and agrees to elope with him. Sameer takes Esha her off for a romantic weekend with the motive of demanding a ransom from his dad! Gyaneshwar, who believes that Esha has been kidnapped, is forced to call his best friend, Gary (Jackie), who happens to be Esha's godfather, for help. Gary promises Gyanendra Singh to bring back Esha safe and sound.

He confides his best man Sameer to do this job! Things change when Sameer gets involved in a drug deal and loses Esha to a gang of drug lords -- Dabar (Mukesh Rishi) and Pran Panwara (Kiran Kumar). Sameer saves Esha from Dabar and Pran in a series of dramatic escape and gunfights; the couple abscond, letting everyone assume that Esha is dead? Thus, the movie ends leaving the viewers confused. The movie has disappointed everyone - the viewers as well as the media. Let's hope that Mashoor Amrohi will leave no stone unturned to come up to the high expectations of the audience, as he is none other than the grandson of Kamal Amrohi who has ruled over the hearts of millions of Hindi movie watchers for decades.
