    MOVIE REVIEW: Naughty Boy
    A SILLY ACT OF SLEAZE

Sleaze has turned comical this time after experiencing its unnoticed journey in countless spine chilling sleazy ventures last year. Sleazy films cater to tiny segments of audience and such films have generated some talents that are tailor-made. 'Naughty Boy' brings out the oozing acts of sleaze and oomph by new sex bombshell Mona Chopra. The actress started off disastrously with B-grade film 'Time Pass' that fell flat on the box office. The dare-bare acts continued in its bitsy roles in 'Dosti-Friends Forever' and 'Jawani Diwani' but went unnoticed. This time she gets full length footage as sultry seductress who knocks off father-son pair off from their wealth and power. Director TLV Prasad has tried to ride on the success of sex comedy with a difference. Prasad's earlier sex flicks 'Maaza Maaza' and 'Tauba Tauba' were comical adventures that were unaccepted by the viewers.

'Naughty Boy' comical acts are full of ogling and lecherous ways of father and son. It also has loads of power and strength of Mona Chopra's physical assets. Such plots have been earlier tried in films like 'Baap Numbri Beta Dus Numbri' where father and son fight each other for lust, power and wealth in humorous ways. At a time when comedies are on the rise this might create some sensation among front benchers who crave for body show. Recently, films like 'Taxi No.9211' and 'Malaamal Weekly' are trading with average success but this comes as low profile film with feeble face value.

The film is important for glorifying another sex bombshell into mainstream. It might be noted that comedies should reflect perfect sense of timing of the characters with the script to generate humor. 'Naughty Boy' succeeds but only in the first half and that too in bits and parts. The plot of the story creates lots of attention but the climax is a big let down. The director derails from its comical act and tries to end the film as revenge saga. It disappoints audiences to great extent and this is where the film fails

The film comes with tagline "Like Father Like Son" as the story revolves around affluent but lecherous father and his adolescent son. The film tries to explore the sleazy acts of seductress who acts as "personality developer" for shy and timid guy. It was earlier tried in the director's last sex film 'Tauba Tauba' where adolescent boy is besotted by his teacher's lascivious charm played by Payal Rohtagi. The director has been slightly innovative in trying to generate humor with a different plot but the treatment is awkward. Rahul Roy's second inning as an actor has been through B-grade sex films and this comes as his second presentation after 'Rafta Rafta'. The film is shouldered on average to poor acting talents with avoidable music. The first big question arises about the film and its credibility for its audiences. It fails on many grounds and this is one big reason that the film has failed to get good theatres.

'Naughty Boy' is a funny bumpy ride of eminent industrialist Gautam Singhania (Rahul Roy) and his son Lucky (Hitesh Kriplani). Singhania is a lecherous businessman who trades money with lust whereas his son is reclusive about sexual acts. Lucky suffers from "lack of confidence" and feels perplexed in the company of opposite sex. Singhania tries to cure this by hiring sexy and curvaceous personality developer Sonia (Mona Chopra). Sonia's extra sensual personality enchants Singhania to an extent that he offers her accommodation in his house.

Lucky explores the feminine sexuality in Sonia's physical assets and feels delighted to be a worthy and affluent man. Meanwhile Singhania installs hidden cameras in Sonia's guest house to watch her movements. The father-son due competes with each other for Sonia and the tussle grows louder and big. Sonia has boyfriend Rahul (Rocky Sandhu) who hails from a respectable family but is unemployed. Sonia deputes Rahul in Singhania's office but the world is turned upside down. In the climax the true identity of Singhania is revealed and Rahul settles score with him for his evil acts of deceiving his father.

'Naughty Boy' proclaims to be a sex laughter treat but ends as a vendetta. The plot looks confusing and so does the screenplay. The camera movements are deeply penetrated into Mona Chopra's physical assets. Rahul Roy seems to be the only bearable talent in the film but succumbs to overacting in later stages. The revival of this actor who rode to stardom with his musical hit 'Aashiqui' looks impossible with such preposterous skin flicks. Hitesh Kriplani looks more like a child artiste and delivers his silly acts in style. The boy has charming appearance and deserves better opportunities in his later projects. Rocky Sandhu is pure teakwood and is there for kissing scenes only.

Mona Chopra stands out as the finest among the whole star cast. She has the vital statistics that can plunder wealth in sleazy acts but deserves better scripts. The way she sheds her inhibition is colossal and his acting skills have improved from her first film. The actress caught media attention when her nude MMS were circulated in the film circle. It is speculated that she will be doing much bolder role in Vinod Pande's forthcoming film 'Swastika'. It might be recalled that sexy actress like Payal Rohtagi, Meghna Naidu and Neha Dhupia tasted big failure last years with strings of flops. Even the second league actress like Kim Sharma, Amrita Arora, Hrishita Bhatt have tried to rejuvenate their sagging career with dare-bare acts but failed. Mona Chopra's performance might generate some interest in small filmmakers and she might get more bold films. The last year's verdict about bold and brazen cinema has gone "kaput" and the same can be said for the sexy actresses. 'Naughty Boy' can be an eye-feasting treat for front benchers but lackluster promotion and poor script will be their worst enemy. Director TLV Prasad should try to improvise his creative skills to infuse humor and laughter in the best possible way next time.

Like 'Maaza Maaza' and 'Tauba Tauba' it will be a losing affair all the way.
