Efforts have been made many a time to create a market for animation films in India. With the help of Pixar Studio, Disney has produced many films in the past and has released them in India on a mass scale. But despite the fact that cartoon channels are immensely popular among Indian kids, not many companies have dared to venture in making a real indigenous superman for them. It doesn't mean that there is not much fiction available for the younger generation. However, no thought had ever been given until now to transform characters like Nanha Jasoos Babloo, Shaktiman or Junior G in animation characters.

But, Sahara One and Percept Picture Company have joined hands with Silvertoons to produce the first out and out cartoon film in the country. All efforts to fill the space for cartoon are highly applaud able; the makers need appreciation not only for making a film of indigenous nature but also to release it commercially on a big scale like any other commercial venture of Bollywood. The Hindi film industry has taken a big leap with 'Hanuman' presented jointly by Sahara One, Percept Picture Company and Silvertoons.

'Hanuman' is a progression for Indian cinema and it also has potential to click at box office at a time when superstars are failing day after day.

'Hanuman' is the story of a child who is graced with miraculous powers. Hanuman's story comes along with the legendry story of Lord Rama who was exiled for 14 years by his father King Dashrath to keep his promise once made to his queen Kaikeyi. She demanded the exile of Rama to the forest and make her son Bharat, the prince of Ayodhya. In the jungles, Rama's wife Sita is kidnapped by Ravan, the king of Lanka. Hanuman enters the story at this juncture and the film also traces his voyage from here only. Hanuman is born to his mother Anjani and by his father Vayu, Air God.

So, he is also called Pawanputra. Hanuman is a naughty kind of child. He wants to do unimaginative things. He looks at the rising Sun and considering it a fruit eats it away. He does anything and everything he likes. As a result, even saints get fed up with his excuses. Thus, Hanuman becomes forgetful of his miraculous powers. He grows up and meets Rama on his way. Since Ram is searching his kidnapped wife, Hanuman decides to stay with Lord Rama and help him in tracing his wife, Sita. Now, his fellow monkeys remind him of his extraordinary powers. So, Hanumaan flies over sea and torches Lanka to ashes. He emerges victorious every time and yet has no ego or claim for the victory of Lord Rama over Ravana. Thus, Hanumaan becomes an idol for millions and a teacher?
