This week, the box-office apart from 'Musafir' also sees 'Rok Sako To Rok Lo'. A first time director and management guru Arindham Chowdhary, has tried his hand at a film. Arindham does all the story, dialogues and direction. But sadly the story doesn't seem to be original.
A school love-story on the lines of 'Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander' is what 'Rok Sako To Rok Lo' is. The same two school rivalry, one Valley high school depicting the rich brats and another Bhartiya School where the middle class children get their education. And all the drama takes place in a cafe close to the two schools.
A very young and new star cast fails to register among the audiences. The lead pair, Manjari Phadnis and Yash Pandit does look like school children but their characters are very run of the mill.

Apart from the new star cast there are some veterans who are there as a special appearance. Sunny Deol and Namrata Shirodkar among others are the two stars in the film. Sunny Deol's role though is something that of riding a bike and going from one place to the other and in turn bumping into this group of schoolboys and girls. Being a mystery man, these school children name him phantom and draw inspiration from him.

Whereas Namrata Shirodkar is the owner of the cafe where the students hang out, there is a rivalry between the two groups of the two schools respectively, and just like Pooja Bedi in 'Jo Jeeta...' there's a super cool chic who tries to woo Yash. Manjari who is Yash's best friend is also in love with him but Yash is busy with the other chic.

But unlike a bicycle race in 'Jo Jeeta...' 'Rok Sako To Rok Lo' has a marathon where Ranveer is always the winner from valley High. As predictable as it can get, the film's ending is that of Yash winning the race and falling in love with Manjari.

This cast has been supported by the likes of Archana Puran Singh, Tiku Talsania, Tinu Verma, Deepti Bhatnagar. Some of them in their roles have acted well. But still, the film in spite of having an exemplary supporting cast doesn't hold good.

The lyrics by Prasoon Joshi and the music by Jatin-Lalit will also not be able to draw the crowds to the theatres. Even the art direction and choreography is nothing to look forward to. All in all, this is a very set like looking film. Even if there are real locations used they still look like sets.

For the direction bit, Arindham should probably make something on Management or if he really wants to get into film making, then should go and attend a filmmaking course. You should only go for this film if you have absolutely nothing to do, no friends to meet, no family to visit and no other movie to see.
