'Plan' has a deadly combination of upcoming talents and established stars from the camp of Sanjay Gupta. Hriday Shetty, son of fight master Shetty, directs this action-packed film, which fails to live up to people's expectations. If 'Kaante' was inspired from a successful Hollywood film, then 'Plan' has shades of 'Kaante'. The similarity between the two is the bunch of men fighting together for a common goal and in the hot pursuit both the films are full of action and body show.
'Plan' is produced by Sanjay Gupta and is made under the banner of 'White Feather Pvt.Ltd'. Promising acting talents like Dino Morea, Bikram Saluja, Sanjay Suri and Rohit Roy come out in different shades of life as they team up for their deadly plan. After 'Munnabhai' Sanjay Dutt plays 'Musabhai', a dreaded underworld don with a distinct hairstyle. Sanjay's talent has not been exploited as he appears as a kidnapped hostage waiting to settle scores with his rival. The actress acts as a sex bombshell swirling and dancing around the beaches and the bar.

Leading lady Priyanka Chopra plays a bar dancer who loves Musabhai immensely. Priyanka comes out with two dance numbers, which are glamorous and sensuous. The surprise item of the film is Sameera Reddy who impresses and woos the audience with her modern looks and revealing outfits. After 'Maine Dil Tujhko Diya', Sameera has come a long way as she dances and sings in a sultry and seductive manner. Riya Sen and Payal Rohtagi are decimated to showpieces as they are only for one song each. Music from different directors is good as the film has one song "Aim Kaim" from Sanjay Dutt. Songs like 'Pyar Aaya' and 'Hota Hai Hota Hai' are melodious and hummable.

Except for action and song sequences, the film falters in all departments. Yash-Vinay screenplay lacks pace and spontaneity, which binds any audience for three hours. There are many flaws in the story as why the beloved of Jai acts ignorant and why the dreaded don like Munnabhai behaves humanly with four guys? The semi- baked love stories add to the miseries of the film, as what happens to them in the end still remains a question? The positive aspects are the music and the song sequence, showing the physical attributes of the sexy actresses and the action- packed drama. There are no solid grounds for the Sanjay Dutt and Mahesh Manjrekar enmity. Unnecessary body shows fail to support the script and the women are used as an object of desire. Riya Sen and Payal Rohtagi are decimated to extras in a male dominated film. Out of the four males, Dino Morea was indeed the best as he pleases with his tomfoolery acts.

Sanjay Dutt's, who has a passion for playing the character of a don, has only repeated his earlier performances of an anti-hero. Mahesh Manjrekar who has won award for the Best Supporting Actor in 'Kaante', completely disappoints the audience. The hostility and vengeance of villainous acts is completely missing. Bhiku Verma's action stunts are well executed, as this is an action-oriented film. Unlike 'Kaante' the dialogues by Milap Zhaveri are not bawdy and vulgar. Cinematography by Basha Lal is appreciably good as he captures the seductive moves and action sequences brilliantly. Hriday Shetty has assisted Sanjay Gupta in all his films, but he still needs grooming as his film lacks the professional niche of modern competitive cinema. Hriday lacks the skill of binding the characters together but has the tendency to make good action film. We can expect and hope a better film from him next time.
