All that glitters is not gold. The saying is particularly true for Amar Upadhyay (better known as Mihir for his role in the famous soap opera Kyonkii Saas Bhi Kabhie Bahu Thi.) who left the small screen to make a quick buck on silver screen but success totally eluded him. After his last film 'Dhundh', now comes 'Jodi Kya Banai Wah Wah Ramji' that also looks headed the same way. Upadhyay must now understand that the silver screen is a totally different ball game. He does not have a persona fit enough to make a hero. And the sooner he understands this, the better it will be for his future.
Director Raman Kumar too makes a come back to the big screen with 'JKBWWR'. (He has made films like 'Saath Saath' and 'Kasam Teri Kasam' in the past), but his name does not figure in the cast. People close to him say that it was because he refused to reshoot some portions of the film. However, after seeing this film one wonders whether any reshooting could have helped him in any way. 'JKBWWR' is a film that has been made with an honest attempt to create a love comedy but fails to generate a buzz at the box office. Its name may have been inspired from the song of the famous film 'Hum Aapke Hain Kaun' but it no way does it near the great family drama.

Ramprasad (Paresh Rawal) is a famous writer. He specializes in writing crime thrillers but his publisher now wants him to pen romantic love stories. He too finds his magic waning as people have drifted towards mushy stories rather than thrillers. He now has the task of writing out something on the lines of Mills and Boons, but does not know where to get an inspiration from for that. He is just incapable of changing his mould. So he looks around and finds his hope in the two neighbors. They are Vishal (Amar Upadhyay) and Priyanka (Rima Sen). Their parents (Tiku Talsania and Gulshan Grover) are old pals and now to turn their friendship into a permanent relationship. They want to marry Vishal with Priyanka. It is hard to predict anything for 'JKBWWR' at the box office. And this is because the film neither has the power to draw the initial bucks and nor does it have a sustaining power. Mouth to mouth publicity is going to harm it more. The collections are sure to drop Sunday onwards and despite the plot being an okay one, the film will flop due to manner in which the plot has been handled. Raman Kumar has not made films for decades, he has been busy on the small screen with too many serials. His TV addiction reflects in this film. Many frames and shots have been designed like a TV serial. Raman Kumar may be a brilliant TV serial director but when it comes to a feature film, an altogether different approach of conceiving the scenes is necessary.
'JKBWWR' also suffers on the script front. Though there are few scenes where Raman Kumar drives the film ahead smoothly, there are other places where the scenes are slip-shod. Scenes between Gulshan Grover and Tiku Talsania are well written but the chemistry between Amar and Reema is lacking.

Dialogues too are not very well executed. They lack the punch that is required for these kinds of films. One-liners are just okay. Tiku and Gulshan do try to carry the film on their shoulders with their full efforts but lack of support from the lead pair makes them look helpless at many times. Amar Upadhyay was praised for his smile in TV serials but in the films now it has become his greatest hurdle. His plastic smile is always there no matter what the nature of the scene may be. Comedy does not seem to be his cup of tea. His overall performance is below average. Reema Sen tries to remain one step ahead of her hero and therefore jumps into overacting. Gulshan Grover is brilliant in his role and is well supported by Kunika. 'JKBWWR' has very dull music and Anand Raj Anand have goofed up in most of the songs of the film.
