First actors and actresses left the small screen for the big screen. Most of them may not have succeeded in stealing the limelight, but the rush continues. And, now it is the turn of mega phone holders of the small screen to take a driving seat behind the 35 mm camera. Shashanka Ghosh, who has made several niche programs on MTV and V channels, debuts in Bollywood with 'Waisa Bhi Hota Hai Part II' as a director. Seeing the title of the film one wonders as to why such names have been coined, but the answer is simple-curiosity. These kind of titles are catching on as they make you want to grab the details of the film and Shashanka Ghosh wants just that one second of your attention for his film. Interested? Read on.

'Waisa Bhi Hota Hai Part II' is not a sequel, but just to draw the attention of viewers, it has been named so. It is a fun film weaved around underworld activities. It presents underworld dons as any other human being. The crux is in the underworld. Shashanka Ghosh deserves accolades for trying a totally different film and also for taking the trend of experimental and off-beat films a step forward. 'Waisa Bhi Hota Hai Part II' may not be an out-and-out entertainer to give you the value for your money, but it does entertain you and at the end of the day. And that is the only thing that finally matters.

'Waisa Bhi Hota Hai Part II' presents almost forgotten Arshad Warsi in a totally different role. He plays Puneet, a copywriter whose life is going smoothly but one thing troubles him day and night and that is his urge to be richer as soon as possible. Agni (Sandhya Mridul) is his girlfriend who is not only a fiery policewoman but a sharp shooter too. They start living together but one day due to some dispute, he is thrown out of the home. At night he happens to meet an underworld man Vishnu (Prashant Narayanan). Some people attempt to kill Vishnu, but Puneet saves his life. In turn they become friends. Now Puneet has found a new zeal in life and he starts interacting more and more with Vishnu. He takes his work to his den.

He takes Vishnu and his friends for an outing. Vishnu works for Ganpat Godi (Anant Jog), who dreams to sleep with a movie actress. Everything would have run smoothly had Puneet not been there. Godi soon comes to know about Puneet's identity. On the other hand, Gangu Bai is hell bent on killing Godi. Gangu Bai too comes to know about Puneet and Agni and also about Vishnu's growing difference with his boss. She wants to take benefit of the situation but that is not so easy as Agni is not an easy cop. Things move fast and soon each one of them is thrown on the same boat. Will they survive or some of them will have to succumb to the circumstances? In this film Aisa Bhi Hota Hai before it reaches to climax to say that Waisa Bhi Hota Hai.

There have been many attempts to bring comedy out of the day to -day situations, but only before people like David Dhawan and Harmesh Malhotra ruling the box office. There were directors like Basu Chaterjee who will make you laugh while dealing with a love story of a common man. Shashanka Ghosh catches the string from there. He develops his plot on a common man only. As soon as this common man Puneet finds himself in trouble, people sitting in the cinema hall start co-relating themselves with him. The film moves on with the same approach. Shashanka has tried to be different in his approach but at places he loses his grip. His raw appeal becomes weakness of the film. The script becomes jarring at places and situations go beyond his control. He needs to give more attention to the script next time. Technically too film is just a pass. Camera handled by Andre Menezes is not very brilliant. Though he catches the pace of the film aptly but in emotional scenes too much camera movement kills the feeling. Dialogues too are not very effective. The plus point of the film is its music by Vishal Shekhar and Abhinave Dhar. Allah Ke Bande is a treat to watch and listen too.

On the acting front, Arshad Warsi gives a natural performance. He has improved a lot. His acting has helped the film in most of the scenes. Prashant Narayan who debuted in Hansal Mehta's 'Chhal' too acts well. Sandhya Mridul looks attractive. Those who have seen her in 'Saathiya' will agree that this heroine has the substance in her. Given some good roles she can be the next voluptuous lasso with deadly brains. Anant Jog is okay but Pratima Kazmi playing the lady don comes out as a winner. She is the new find of the Bollywood. Mahima Chaudhary and Maria Goretti are the added attractions of the film. Mahima's entry towards the end may not help the film much but the item number by Maria does titillate many. She oozes oomph on the screen and does make many swirl in seats. On the whole, 'Waisa Bhi Hota Hai Part II' is a film that can earn its share at the box office. This movie lacks competition from other films, as there were not many releases during the past few weeks. However, it may find its way to the other end.
