Cinema is a medium, which attracts people from every nook and corner of the art field. So it is obvious for those who start their journey at the small screen to migrate to the celluloid sooner or later. And, previously while this trend was only limited to actors and actresses only, now people behind the scenes too are following it. After a lot of technicians and others, now TV production houses too are venturing in filmmaking. Cinevista Communication is a famous name on the small screen. It has turned film producer with a film made in association with director Umesh Mehra. The production house comes back this time with a new name Cinevistaas and this time they are the sole proprietors of this film called 'Sssshhh...' (Four times S and three times h).

Avoid taking much trouble in pronouncing the film's name perfectly because no one associated with the film also could do during shooting. This is a step forward to woo the teen-age audience that makes the major chunk of cinegoers today, after 'Kucch To Hai'. These kinds of films are set around a group of freaky young people who suddenly find themselves trapped in a horrible situation. The idea is not bad as these young people find it easy to correlate with these kinds of plots more easily. But the problem is that filmmakers in Bollywood are still trying the idea of 'I Know What You Did Last Summer'.

'Sssshhh...' has many moments of gory scenes and chilling suspense. It also delves into the human psychology where a person easily gets attracted towards the unknown and all this starts when a girl in the small town is killed brutally. She was Malini Gujral (Simone Singh). No one knows the motive behind this murder. Everyone keeps on guessing. On the other hand this murder creates a disastrous effect on Malini's younger sister Mahek (Tanisha, Kajol's sister). Malini had many friends who will vouch with her. They join hands to bring Mahek out of this mood of depression. This group has very attractive but also very volatile Gehna (Suvarna Jha), film bug Rajat (Gaurav Kapur), always in gear Nikhil (Kushal Punjabi) and cool Riya (Teena Choudhry). Riya and Nikhil love each other too. All of them form a cool gang and then there is Rocky (Dino Morea). He too joins in cheering up Mahek. Rock is Mahek's childhood friend and is very freak in nature but deep in his heart. He only knows what he thinks about Mahek. But to Rocky's bad luck Mahek is inclined more towards Suraj (Karan Nath). And the fate follows Mahek. Someone in the mask of a joker keeps attempting to kill her. The situation worsens and then they decide to take a break and move to hill station for a holiday. From hills they to go beaches. Every one is full of fun, and knows little that someone has been following them for all these days. "I want to tell you but the group of these hooligans says, Sssshhh…!"

Nature and mystique play an important role in making of 'Sssshhh...' The film heavily depends on its surroundings and it is the director of this film, Pawan Kaul, who seems winning the atmosphere in the first few minutes of the film. He has set his film in the right ambience that is always needed for a film like this. Locales of Manali, Shimla, Rohtang, Goa, Khandala, Bangkok and Poda in Thailand have been utilized to the fullest and rather it has an overdose. The film looks like a tourism film as Heero Keswani's camera spends more time in catching the exotic locales than to grasp moods and expressions of its cast. 'Sssshhh...'' is weak on script and dialogues. Arshad Syed's script does not have much novelty.
Even the last film made on and around the same topic 'Kucch To Hai' did not do well because the original 'I Know What You Did Last Summer' has been seen by almost all the teenagers either in a theatre or at home. Their zeal for more can be met with novelty and not by recycled versions. Abbas Ali Moghul does try to save the show with action scenes. The scene where Karan Nath fights with the masked killer is worth watching. Going by the look of the film, the music of the film should have been something on lines of 'Dil Chahta Hai' to keep the vibrancy of the film alive till the climax.

Another aspect that would have been considered before the start of the shoot is its star cast. Karan Nath for the example is good in action scenes but not at ease with romance on the screen. Dino Moreo does not fit in this group of teenagers, as he looks old now. Director Pawan Kaul has put in his heart in making this film. Producers-Prem Kishan and Sunil Mehta-too have spent a lot of money on the film. But what remains to be seen is the final outcome of this film. Anu Malik has failed to create ripples before the release of 'Sssshhh...'. The film has lyrics written by almost half a dozen songwriters and each of them tries to weave a different mood for the situation. It would have been better to weave the music in one flow and have some haunting composition weaved and overlaid with the narration of the film. Having been released in tough competition with five or six more films, it looks difficult for this movie to save the day. Youngsters in Diwali mood would have liked a peppier and pacier film for entertainment.
