Bollywood's Video director Naushaad Khan who has directed award winner singer Arun Daga's two albums met us recently in New Delhi. Naushaad threw light on Daga's albums that have been released by T-Series.

    Excerpts of Naushaad's interview:

You have directed two songs in the album. Tell us something about that.

The title song of the album 'Jeena Tere Bina' and the second song ' Haan Mere' is directed by me. Both of them are on air.

Didn't you direct Daga's earlier album 'Dil Pagal Hai' also?

Yes, I have directed his previous album, too.

How was your experience of working with him in the two albums?

Great! It was really wonderful working with him. We have been close friends. So, it was not only the shooting kind of atmosphere there. We had so much of comfort level and a very nice rapport . Working with him was not like that of a director with an actor kind of situation

What changes do you find in his performance between the two albums?

    click for larger view
He has definitely improved a lot in terms of expressions and acting. He was more confident this time and he performed better than any professional model . You can see in his album the kind of expressions he has given. In both the videos he has delivered the best. You can certainly make it out when an artiste enjoys his work. The title 'Jeena Tere Bina' is a very sad kind of a song and even the video has a sad fate. It has been shot in a graveyard. He is really sad and at the same time the other song, 'Aa Mere' is a romantic song. He has really acted well. He has delivered the feel and the mood of the song.

How did you think of featuring him in the song?

Every singer or artiste features in his or her album because of the market system that has changed, now. People want to know who is the artist and who has sung the songs. Secondly, besides being an artist he is really presentable and good looking singer. So, one can easily decide to feature him in the album. That was the reason why I was very cool and easy with him. He has fitted the bill and so I decided on featuring him in the album instead of any other model. If you have a presentable singer then why should one waste him for any other model?

What about the female models in the album?

    click for larger view
In both songs, female models are different. In the title song 'Jeena Tere Bina' we have taken Gauri Pandit; she has been modeling for a long time. She is doing lot of commercials, too. And in the second song ' Haan Mere' we have used model named ' Gunjan Walia'. She is a TV actress and has done a lot of shows. Currently, she is doing the title role in a serial 'Kuchh Apne Kuchh Paraya' on Sahara One. In both albums, I wanted my models with Indian features and homely looks. Both of these models suited the roles for the respective videos.

Tell us about the locations where these songs are shot?

We have shot them in different parts of London as per the requirement and concept of the song.

Why did you choose London only for shooting both albums?

London was my first priority. You can say it is my personal choice as I like London so much. In any country one doesn't get all types of locations at one place. I chose London as I wanted to shoot both videos during the same schedule.

You have remixes in this album. Tell us something about that.

There are three remixes of the original songs in the album.

Any plan of directing those remixes also?

    Yes...

How has your association been with T-Series?

I also directed the first album 'Dil Pagal Hai' released by T-Series. I have also done a couple of other videos for T-series. It was a great association working with them. Since T- Series is one of the few top music companies in India, I am proud of my association with it.

    What about your future projects?

There are many. Let's see which comes first. Let's not talk about this subject at this time, though.
