UDAY: I HAVE EXPOSED MORE THAN TANISHA

Yash Chopra's second son, Uday Chopra who began his career in his home production 'Mohabbatein' along with a galaxy of stars that included Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Jimi Shergil and Jugal Hansraj, will soon be seen in his next 'Neel 'N' Nikki'. He is very excited with this movie pairing with Tanisha. Though he has already acted in several comedies and romantic movies, he aspires to do action-packed movies. Between 'Mohabbatein' and 'Dhoom' he has played good characters in 'Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai', 'Mujhse Dosti Karogi', 'Supaari' and 'Charas'. He has worked as assistant director and director in several movies. His directorial debut was 'Yeh Dillagi'.
At present, Uday has been visiting different cities in India for the promotion of 'Neel 'N' Nikki'. He doesn't agree with those who have found too much of exposure by Tanisha in 'Neel 'N' Nikki'. He wonders if Tanisha could escape from wearing western clothes in a movie with Canada in the background. He explains, " I have exposed more than she. Tanisha has only dressed herself according to the demand of the script."
Excerpts of his recent chat with the media:
What's 'Neel 'N' Nikki' all about and your character in it?
I play the character of Neel, a Punjabi boy who lives with his family in a small town of Canada. My parents want to marry me with a Punjabi girl. They advertise it, and get a girl from Punjab for marrying her with me.
Then what happens?
Before my marriage, I want to enjoy life. Since the marriage is fixed 21 days hence, I am allowed to move out and enjoy as much as I can. No sooner I move out than I meet with Nikki played by Tanisha. We come very close to each other.
What's your experience with Tanisha as heroine?

Tanisha a very nice girl. I have known her for eight years when she worked in 'Dilwale Dulhaniya Lejayenge' in which I was assistant director. We have grown friends since then. She is very attentive towards her work. I like her sense of humor. I am sure that she will prove a good actress in future.
Has Tanisha exposed too much in the movie?

No, it's not true. I have exposed more than she. I have shed more clothes. Tanisha has exposed as much as was the demand of the movie. Since Canada is in the background of the movie, she has dressed herself according to the country and its culture. I don't think she has exposed more than that.
What else are you doing?
At present, I am busy in the shooting of 'Dhoom -Part 2'.
What type of characters attracts you most?
Now, I like to play action characters since I have had enough of comedies and romantic movies. Though I have done some action in 'Dhoom' yet I am not satisfied with that.
Why don't you act in movies belonging to other banners?
I do get movies from other banners, but I don't like their stories and characters. If I get good movies of other banners, I shall certainly do them. I am an artist, and shall work anywhere I get work.
