Producer-actor Kamaal Khan and director Partho Ghosh are making a movie titled 'Sitam', starring Tara Sharma, Kiran Janjani and producer Khan himself in different roles. 'Sitam' is based on the story of a young man who exploits girls by first offering jobs and later torturing them. However, one of his girls finally teaches him a lesson. The smashits team met with the actors and the producer in New Delhi last week. You may recall Kiran Janjani chose the role of a stripper in 'Oops!' and Tara Sharma acted in 'Page 3'. We talked to every one of the members of the team.

Tara Sharma, will you describe your role in 'Sitam'?

I play the role of Chandni who looks innocent and simple housewife in the beginning but turns modern later. As an innocent girl she wins the heart of Kiran Janjani and marries him. Later, she takes a revenge on him for torturing the girls.

Are you playing two roles?

Yes, I play both positive as well as negative roles in the movie. So, I find it quite challenging. The story is very interesting. While most of the films depict only one aspect of men flirting with women, this movie shows the other side too that how flirts meet with evil consequence for torturing women.

What's your role in the movie, Kiran Janjani?

I play the character of a young man named Raj who is a rich man and runs an advertising agency. He exploits girls by offering them jobs. He changes girls like his clothes. Whenever any girl begs him to marry her, he flatly declines on the pretext that he wants to marry a girl following Indian tradition and culture. Tara Sharma as an innocent girl lures and then marries him. Later, she teaches him a lesson by turning modern and taking a revenge on him.

Isn't the story an old hat?

No, it's not so. The story is rather new and fresh. This is a love triangle with a lot of drama.

Does it have any other special features?

Nikhil-Vinay has given excellent music. Besides me, there are two more female artistes in it. They are Navneet Kaur and Mallika.

Does the movie convey any message?

The movie conveys a message that the appearances can be deceptive.

Isn't your career graph failing you in your ambitious star dreams?

I don't have a choice. I have to say yes to whichever film comes my way.

Will you repeat 'Oops!' like stripper's role in future?

No, I have decided to say no to sex films except those belonging to Mahesh Bhatt though.

Do you have any other offer?

I have two other films on hand. They are ' Haseena' and 'Gham'.

Besides being a producer, I play a villain in my movie. I act as a contract killer named Robert. He takes supari to kill a person.

What else is in the movie?

I accept supari to kill Kiran Janjaani. The story takes a new turn from here. I would not like to disclose the rest of the story though.

Do you recall any other highlight of the movie?

Yes, I have written the lyrics too. I am sure that the audience would appreciate my roles both as an actor and as a producer.
