Sandali Sinha has traveled a long way from the small to the big screen, and has meanwhile had a hit in her 'Tum Bin'. However, her fame in the tinsel world was short lived as her next two movies -'Om ' and 'Pinjar' did not bring her luck. But Sandali is very confident of her performance in her next keenly awaited Anil Sharma's ' Tumhare Hawale Watan Saathiyon'. In this period movie of Indian history ranging from 1972 to 2004, she plays the role of Captain Dr Sakshi. She is very proud of her role as she cherished a desire to become a doctor in her personal life. So, she claims that her acting is natural. Besides, she is doing another art film 'Girehwan' after 'Pinjar'. In 'Girehwan' she plays the role of Madhu who fights for the rights of others. She says it is a realistic film. However, she is not averse to doing other category of films. This doesn't mean she could do all and sundry ones. She is averse to doing sexy roles or body exposure. Despite this she believes there are a number of good directors to do clean and meaningful movies.

What's your view of the big screen?
I am fully satisfied with the roles given to me, and my performances in Bollywood.
Didn't the viewers ignore your roles?

Yes, the viewers did not take due notice of my roles. Any way, it doesn't bother me. After all, every film doesn't prove a hit. And the success or the failure of a movie depends on the performances of the whole team. All of them share the responsibility. Any one actor cannot take the credit or the discredit.
Are you interested in art films only?
No, it's not so. I only look at a film from the point of view of the importance of my role in it.
Why are you less popular than contemporaries?

Well, there is a mad race among actresses to catch up with the trend of skin exposure and sexy scenes in movies. However, I shall never do it. I do not like it. Today only Shah Rukh Khan or sex sells. I cannot follow it, what may come. I cannot go against my conscience. I know some girls have shot to fame in a short time. But they have succeeded because they were ready for body exposure or hot scenes. Meghna Naidu, Mallika Sheraw and Neha Dhupia have left behind even top actresses by their sex exposures. Mallika Sherawat is getting popular overseas and getting film offers there, but it doesn't matter to me.
Would you never do such films?
Yes, I shall not. After all, I shall get married after some time and shall have children too. If I follow the modern trend set by some of us , how shall l face my children. I do not want to shoot to fame through skin shows.
How do you see your future in Bollywood?

There are good directors too in the movie world, and they make good films. They have also had hits at the box office. There is no body exposure or a cheap hot scene in their movies. I would love to join them. I believe in clean films and meaningful roles.
