The next Aaj din chadeyya is again a nice number that is beautifully rendered in Rahat Fateh Ali Khan's voice. The track starts with a small alaap! Significantly, it's a romantic number and will please its audience.
These two are followed by the next song Chor bazari. This is an excellently rendered score by Sunidhi Chauhan and Neeraj Sridhar. The number starts with foot-tapping, peppy music. Though its lyrics are not good, the number has the potential to impress music lovers. This too has a remixed version, but it's just average.
Then comes Main kya hoon well supported by both electronic as well as psychedelic beats. KK makes his presence felt with its fast pace.
The next song has Punjabi flavor. This is titled Thoda thoda pyar and is sung by Sunidhi Chauhan with a folk touch to it. However, it's unlikely to turn out a chartbuster.
Neeraj Sridhar returns with Twist, a dance number that's high on beats. The song intermingles with the 1958 movie 'Phagun's Ek pardesi mera dil le gaya. This has a remixed version, and is considered better than the original. "Twist" starts with the famous "Been" tune from the hit song "Tan Dole mera mann dole" of Nagin originally composed by Hemant Kumar! The old classic tune has been given a modern feel. This is probably the best though its lyrics don't mean much. The only catchy phrase is "And We Twist"!
Lastly, Mohit Chauhan croons the song Ye dooriyan. The song just passes the muster. And, Mohit's vocals are worth listening.
Overall, the album is nice, but the credit goes to Pritam's management. However, it falls far short of high expectations from a music director like Pritam who gave us the fascinating music in 'Jab We Met'in the recent past. Some songs of 'Love Aaj Kal' are likely to prove hits, but not become chartbusters. The guitar piece in the beginning and throughout has been good.
