Jagadish faces land de-notification charges
July 12, 2012
Bangalore, July 12(ANI): The newly appointed state chief of Karnataka Jagadish Shettar has already landed in trouble, after a complaint was filed against him, alleging irregularities in land de-notification six years ago, when he was the state Revenue Minister. The complaint was filed by social activist S M Chethan in the Lokayukta court, alleging that Shettar de-notified 178 acres of land in 2006, misusing his post of revenue minister. The complainant also alleged that Shettar violated rules, which caused a revenue loss of Rs 250 crore to the state exchequer. Meanwhile, slamming the state ruling BJP government over frequent controversies, Congress General Secretary B K Hariprasad said this incident has proved that BJP is a non-performer in the state.
