HIV case: CBI probe against Junagadh hospital
June 27, 2012
Ahmedabad, June 27 (ANI): A CBI probe has been ordered by the Gujarat High Court against the Junagadh government hospital where 23 thalassaemic children were infected by HIV during blood transfusion. A bench comprising Chief Justice Bhaskar Bhattacharya and JB Pardiwala handed over the case to the CBI. The bench also expressed discontent over the way in which the case was handled by the Gujarat authorities. Advocate Girish Das who had filed a PIL last year demanding a probe into the matter said the Court observed that this is a rarest of rare case and it needs a CBI investigation.
