Heat wave continues to burn North India

Amritsar/ Shimla, June 20 (ANI): Intense heat wave has gripped northern India, leading to an acute paucity of water and disrupting the livelihood of thousands of residents. Tourists who had congregated at the Golden Temple in Amritsar bore the brunt of the scorching heat and rising temperature. In the last few days the soaring mercury levels resulted in the death of several people. Meanwhile, there were some tourists who had resigned to the severe heat conditions, expressed their satisfaction with the arrangements made by temple authorities. Moreover, locals in Shimla expressed their ire and said that they had to stand in long queues to fill their buckets with water.
