TV India?s first spoofed, 45-minute movie ?Ghoom?, produced under the banner of MTV Fully Faltoo Films is the comic version of ?Dhoom? MTV has done it again! The channel known for it?s weird, wacky and slapstick spoofing of all things famous has another trick up its sleeve. MTV?s Fully Faltoo brand of humor now migrates from television to the big screen. Yesterday, MTV India announced its foray into films with its first spoofed 45-minute movie titled ?Ghoom?. As the name suggests, ?Ghoom? is the comic version of ?Dhoom? and has been produced under the banner of MTV Fully Faltoo Films. It will hit movie halls nationwide come June 2. Presented by Coca Cola - ?Ghoom? with its wickedly twisted comic plot has a stellar cast comprising Sumeet Raghavan (Abhishek Bachao) known for his role in ?Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai?, Ajay Gehi (Who-Dare Chopra) of ?Maqbool? fame, Gaurav Kapoor (Kaun Abraham), who?s done shows like ?Dil Kya Chahta Hai?, along with Benika Deepak of ?Pinjar? and ?Escape From Taliban? fame and Purbi Joshi of ?The Great Indian Laughter Show?. ?Ghoom?s? plot is similar to that of ?Dhoom? but the narrative and storyline has been changed and the audience will have to wait a few more weeks for MTV?s fresh batch of stomach-holding laughter riot. It?s about a super cop (blooper-cop) who wants to nab a gang of five biker thieves, who double up as pizza delivery guys to hide their real identity. Being fast ones on fast machines, they always escape our super cop. So, bullying someone as fast as them into joining him seems the only option left for our super cop if he wants to foil their next robbery. Enter the mechanic who turns out to be a bigger idiot than the cop. The mega robbery (that?s supposed to be happening at a well known dance bar) finally turns into a riot of idiotic incidents, with a deadly and engrossing climax, which is well worth the wait. Speaking of ?Ghoom?, Ashish Patil, VP & GM, Creative and Content, MTV Networks India, said, " This is one of MTV?s biggest initiatives for 2006. Its guaranteed to make your head go ghoom ghoom ghoom?Watch it at your own risk!" DVD of the same will be released very soon as well.
