L'oreal Professionnel Colour Trophy
This love story with hair started way back in 1955 in the UK. The biggest event of its kind in the world, the L'Oreal Professionnel COLOUR TROPHY is now recognized internationally as one of the most exciting competitions in hairdressing today. Held in over 32 countries around the world the competition gives an amazing platform for hairdressers to express their creativity, as well as helps in developing the hairdressing industry.
With India so prominent on the global map and and Bollywood inspired fashion making waves in Cannes and every conceivable event or talking point in the world, the Indian version of the contest is now in its third year. Says Smira Bakshi, Business Head, " L'Oreal Professionnel Colour Trophy in India, Fashion is inspired by Bollywood and our hairstylists who work with the film industry eventually set trends that reach the common man. Aspiration is at an all time high and fashion-consciousness becomes more meaningful when validated by a trendsetting company like ours."
The whole of Mumbai's hair styling industry had descended on Hyatt regency, last evening for the L'oreal professionnel colour trophy regional finals. All the participating salons had their respective teams cheering for them, as and when their salon stylist displayed the winning styles. The judges for the evening were : Caterina Dibiase, Artistic Director, Heading Out Art Team, Australia, Varun Bahl, Top Fashion Designer, Yatan Ahluwalia, Leading Image Consultant and stylist, Edward Mendonca, Renowned make-up artist, and Vikram Bawa, Award winning fashion photographer.The show was put together and beautifully choreographed by ace model Lubna Adams, who was responsible for making the stylists do a little fashion walk.
One also saw Adhuna Akhtar with her pretty daughter, whose salon B: Blunt was participating in the contest in all the 3 categories, namely Colour Trophy, Men's Image and new Generation. She along with her brother Osh Bhabhani were seen cheering their teams.. There were 9 winners. From the New generation slot : Bhavna Sharma from Head to Toes, Pune was the first runner up. 2nd runners up (there was a tie between B:Blunt,Juhu, Rohan Mascarenhas and K J Sandeep from Hair Play,Mumbai, they were given the Loreal professionnel trophy by Varun Bahl.
In the Men's Image category, again there was a tie between Pravin Pawar of B: Blunt, Hughes Road and Noor Salmani from Exquise Salon, Inorbit, followed by 2nd runner up Anuh Shinoor from Making headlines,Pune.. They were presented the trophy by Vikram Bawa
Colour Trophy
In the Colour Trophy category, 2nd runner up was Joesna Shinoor from Making Headlines,Pune. There was a tie between Priyanka Borkar of Kromakay, Juhu and Dimple Patange from Hair play,Mumbai for the 2nd runner up. The winner was Dimple Mehta from B:Blunt, Juhu. They were given trophy by Yatan and jojo.
All in all, there was lot of competing spirit in the air, and some new aspiring salons to have a dekko at the colour trophy contest!!
