Laxmi came, played & won every heart!
On 10 Ka Dum
Friday, June 27at 9.00 p.m.
On Sony Entertainment Television
Mumbai, June 23, 2008: The roll over contestant, Aditya Prabhu, got more than what he bargained for when he took part in 10 Ka Dum. He got a makeover. Now, Aditya looked dapper and swaggered in with dark hair all thanks to Garnier! Even his buddy decided to try his luck when he asked Salman Khan to dance with him. All three did the jig and danced to Dil mangda... Aditya did well but in the end managed to take home only one lakh with a smile. His happy temperament definitely impressed Salman.
Laxmi Narayan Tripathi, the eunuch who made news when a documentary on her life was screened at the Mumbai Festival and television channels, was the next contestant in the knockout round along with Manpreet Singh. Laxmi's quick wit, humour and nakhras had everyone rolling in laughter. Laxmi dispelled some age-old myths about the transgender community. Laxmi is a post-graduate and works for social causes in her community. She is one of the 11 people and the first transgender person to be selected to represent the community at the UN to work for human rights. Tall, impressive and articulate, Laxmi lost in the knockout round much to the disappointment of everyone there. Salman was particularly disappointed with Laxmi's departure. And if you think Laxmi is an exception to the eunuch community, then watch out for her beautiful companion whom Salman invited to come back as a contestant on the show!
Manpreet Singh, the young lad from Kolkata and an aspiring model confessed that meeting Laxmi in that short span of time had changed his opinion about eunuchs forever. Manpreet ended the evening as a rollover contestant.
10 Ka Dum is not just about questions and answers that reflect the mindset of Indians; it's about great bonding and loads of fun with the host Salman Khan. It has more laughter, dance and entertainment than any Bollywood film!
Catch it all on 10 Ka Dum on Friday, June 27 at 9.00 p.m. only on Sony Entertainment Television.
